Running Back Player Rankings – Week 7

(BYE:  PHILADELPHIA, TAMPA BAY)

QB Rankings  WR Rankings  TE Rankings

Running Backs                 (Updated:  Sunday, Oct. 19 - 11:18AM CT)

DeMarco Murray - Pyro Character

1.       DeMarco Murray (vs. NYG - Sunday, 4:25pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #8 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

DeMarco Murray silenced the critics and proved that he is matchup proof this season with his game against the Seahawks defense. Murray became the first back this season to rush for over 100 yards. In rattling off 115 yards Murray TRIPLED the previous high for a player (Montee Ball – 38 yards) this season. Murray has now rushed for over 100 yards for six straight games to open the season, joining some very exclusive company in the process. Murray now gets to take on the Giants who were just gashed by a previously struggling LeSean McCoy who was able to rattle off six runs of more than 10 yards. On the season the G-Men have allowed over 23 points a game to opposing running backs so this has the makings of being Murray’s biggest game yet.

Arian Foster - Pyro Character

2.       Arian Foster (at Pit - Monday Night, 8:30pm ET - TV: ESPN)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #15 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Arian has been on fire the last two weeks, rushing for 266 yards, scoring four touchdowns, and adding another 47 yards on five receptions. That resulted in 55.3 fantasy points. Foster now has four 100-yard rushing games on the season, and has an impressive 4.8 YPC average. The good times should continue to roll this week as Foster pays a visit to Pittsburgh. The Steelers have been good against running backs this season, but last week the Ben Tate and Isaiah Crowell combined for 155 rushing yards with three touchdowns. The Texans force-feed the ball to Foster, so he should be able to exploit their defense to yet another 100-yard performance.

Le'Veon Bell - Pyro Character

3.       Le’Veon Bell (vs. Hou - Monday Night, 8:30pm ET - TV: ESPN)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #14 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Le’Veon Bell has continued to pile up the yardage both on the ground and through the air so far this season. Last week against the Browns Bell rushed 18 times for 82 yards and hauled in 4 passes on his 6 targets for 23 yards. The only issue with Bell this season has been his lack of productivity in the touchdown department as he has hit paydirt just once this season and that was all the way back in week 1. Unfortunately for Bell the Steelers are one of the most pass heavy teams when they get in the redzone calling a pass play 63% of the time and when his number has been called (12 times) he has failed to reach the endzone. The Texans have allowed nearly 20 points a game to opposing runners so far this season and Bell should be the next in line to pick up some yards against the Texans rush defense, if only he could start finding the endzone like a 220+ pound running back should he would vault up the rankings on a weekly basis.

Matt Forte - Pyro Character

4.       Matt Forte (vs. Mia - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #18 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Matt Forte had his biggest game of the season last week against the Falcons and has strung together three awesome outing for owners who stuck by his side. Forte scored on the ground for the first and the second times this season on Sunday and now has scores in each of his last two games. Forte is now 2/22 in his redzone touches so far this season. With the amount of opportunities he is getting he should continue to score touchdowns in the coming weeks. This week against the Dolphins who are merely average against opposing running backs, Forte should continue to get it done in both the run and the pass game as he has all season. In his only career game against Miami Forte gained 97 yard and scored a touchdown so there is no reason this guy should be on your bench.

Cleveland Browns RB - Pyro Character

5.       Ben Tate (at Jac - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #10 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

When Tate plays he is the lead back for the Browns. Last week he only mustered 78 yards on 25 carries, but he also scored two touchdowns. This week he faces off against the Jaguars, who are the worst overall defense in fantasy, and are allowing 22.5 fantasy points to running backs. That defense has gotten tougher over the past three weeks, only allowing 223 total rushing yards to the Chargers, Steelers and Titans. The Browns have a solid offensive line, and Tate should be able to do damage against the Jags.

Jamaal Charles - Pyro Character

6.       Jamaal Charles (at SD - Sunday, 4:05pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #24 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Chiefs head west to face San Diego. San Diego has only allowed 1 rushing TD all year. They are in the top 3rd for fewest fantasy points allowed to opposing RBS. That said, they have given up 4 receiving TDs to opposing RBs; No other team has given up more. Really, Jamaal has played in three games really (in week 2 he totaled 5 offensive snaps). In that time, Jamaal has 9 receptions and 2 receiving TDs. Last week, Jamaal averaged 5.3 against a stout 49er defense. The week before, he averaged 5.1 against New England, where he also totaled over 90 rushing yards and scored a TD. If you are a Charles owner, he is in your line up.

Marshawn Lynch - Pyro Character

7.       Marshawn Lynch (at StL - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #22 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

After rushing for 110 yards in the Week 1, Marshawn has a high yardage game of 88 yards. The saving grace for Lynch is that he has produced six touchdowns, although last week he was held out of the endzone for the first time this season. Marshawn has been a workhorse back over the past three seasons, but he only has more than 20 carries in a game twice this year. In the three other games, Lynch has 33 carries for 169 yards. This week he will face a Rams defense that has looked stout against the run, holding running backs to 13.2 fantasy points per week. Lynch should be able to get back into the endzone this week, which makes him a good start.

Giovani Bernard - Pyro Character

8.       Giovani Bernard (at Ind - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-11 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Giovani had his first 100-yard rushing game of the season last week, and finished with 21.7 fantasy points. With his 89-yard touchdown run, Bernard now has a touchdown in three of his last four games, and four touchdowns over that span. Gio took a major hit from Luke Kuechly, which kept him out for close to a quarter, but he came back to the game will be a full go this week. This week he will travel to Indy to face a Colts defense that has been very stingy on the season, but have been susceptible to running backs. In six games this year the Colts have only allowed one 100-yard rusher, but they have given up seven rushing touchdowns. Bernard does not usually do most of his damage on the ground, so he should once again be able to reach 100 total yards for the fourth time this season.

Andre Ellington - Pyro Character

9.       Andre Ellington (at Oak - Sunday, 4:25pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #2 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The DUKE has put up consistent rushing and receiving numbers, but he has only popped once this season. Ellington has 61.3 fantasy points on the season, but scored 26.4 of those points in Week 5 against the Broncos, which is the only game that he has scored a touchdown in this season. Otherwise his high game on the season has gone for 10.1 fantasy points. Ellington is seeing at 20 touches per week, so he is still getting his chances. The return of Carson Palmer will help to solidify the offense, and prevent defense from focusing on shutting Andre down. This week he should be able to find the endzone against a Raiders defense that is allowing running backs to score 22.8 fantasy points per week.

Baltimore Ravens RB - Pyro Character

10.     Justin Forsett (vs. Atl - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #1 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Ravens are at home to the Falcons. The Ravens have been employing a running back by community approach this year. It is a three headed monster. Guessing the hot hand before hand is difficult, but Forsett is your best bet. Last week, he split carries with Pierce, Forsett toted the rock 14 times to Pierce’s 15. The big difference is what they did once the ball was in their hands. Forsett rumbled for 111 yards to Pierce’s 32. We are talking 7.9 per carry for Forsett and just 2.1 for Pierce. I still like Taliaferro more than Pierce in the long run. For now, Forsett is undoubtedly the guy. Atlanta has been consistently bad against RBs all season. In the last three weeks, no one is allowing more fantasy points to opposing RBs (31.7).

Alfred Morris - Pyro Character

11.     Alfred Morris (vs. Ten - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #9 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Washington is home to Tennessee in Week 7. Alfred’s performance has been trending down all year. He has gone from 91 yards in Week 1; to 85; to 77; to 63; to 29; to 41. He has 3 touchdowns on the year. As an owner myself, I have witnessed some vultering as well. Besides Weeks 2 and 3, he has only been given one red zone attempt in every other game. Jay Gruden has definitely put his mark on this team. In 2014, they are rushing the ball just over 38% whereas over 61% of their plays are passing.  In the last 3 weeks, only 10 teams are giving up more fantasy points to opposing RBs. Morris has a chance to turn it around, but I am not crazy about him. I should say, I am not thrilled with how he is being used. He is not a breakaway guy; he needs touches to get it going. He is a consistent back who can chew up the field, but he needs the opportunity to do it. Gruden’s offense has not afforded him that in 2014.

Reggie Bush - Pyro Character

12.     Reggie Bush (vs. NO - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-11 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Joe Lombardi and Reggie Bush will square off against their old team as the Saints come to town in week #7. After sitting out the game last week, Bush is saying he feels 100%. Most of the Detroit beat writers are expecting him to be a go in week #7.  He is a true homer, all but one of his Detroit TDs have come at home, which is exactly where the Saints are facing them. The Saints are allowing 8 passing attempts per game to RBs, only 2 other teams allow more to the position. In their last two games, they are allowing an average of 25.5 fantasy points to opposing RBs. Bush only has 1 TD on the year so far, but I bet Lombardi gets him in the game plan so that he gets to 2 in this revenge game.

San Diego Chargers Rookie - Pyro Character

13.     Branden Oliver (vs. KC - Sunday, 4:05pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #23 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Chargers are home to the Chiefs in one of the three late Sunday afternoon games.  In the last two weeks, the Branden Oliver machine has rolled on. In that time, he has 3 total TDs, and has gone for over 100 rushing yards in both games. If you were able to grab him off waivers, it is paying off in spades. For those that held out hope that Matthews would return quickly, the guy has not even resumed running in practice yet. Oliver appears to have a clear hold on the #1 spot, as the Bolts were forced to pick up Ronnie Brown, who is acting as the #2. Donald Brown is still working his way through the concussion protocol. Donald Brown was watching practice on Wednesday. That is not to say he won’t progress quickly the rest of this week, but even if he is back, Oliver has passed the eye test with flying colors. Now, what happens when Matthews is ready to return is a different story, but so far, that does not appear like it will be a problem for the foreseeable future. That said, the Chiefs are down right rough. They are one of only two teams that have not allowed a running back to score on them all season. Oliver will have his hands full come Sunday.

Eddie Lacy - Pyro Character

14.     Eddie Lacy (vs. Car - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #3 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Packers are home to face the Panthers. After turning out his first 100 yard rushing game in week #5, many owners took it as a sign of things to come. Unfortunately, it was a return to his woeful ways in week #6. Lacy had 14 attempts for 40 yards and did not cross the end zone. So far this year, he is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry. As Lacy continues to struggle, the coaching staff has been using backup, James Starks, a bit more. In the last two weeks, Starks has totaled 20 attempts, just 7 less than Lacy during that same stretch.  The Panthers are allowing 25 fantasy points to go to opposing RBs each week, only Atlanta is allowing more. You are still holding out hope for Lacy. But you might see some of that 25 fantasy points go to Starks this weeks. That could be a trend until Lacy can turn this ship around. Carolina will give him a good chance to do that. Last week, the Panthers gave Giovani Bernard his first 100 yard rushing game of the season.

Fred Jackson - Pyro Character

15.     Fred Jackson (vs. Min - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #5 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Fred Jackson has emerged as the top option in the Bills backfield yet again, much to the chagrin of C.J. Spiller owners. Fred Jackson is dominating in running back snaps and proving yet again to be a value relative to where you drafted him. Jackson is getting more targets and redzone carries and his value is just higher than his teammate. Last week Jackson scored his first touchdown of the season and will look to continue putting up nice numbers for his owners with a matchup against the Vikings on the docket. The Vikings are allowing 24 points a game to opposing runners and Fred should be able to have one of his better games of the season against this challenged defense.

Lamar Miller - Pyro Character

16.     Lamar Miller (at Chi - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #21 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Dolphins visit Chicago in Week 7. Miller is the man in Miami, with Damien Williams listed as his official backup. In the last two games, Miller has totaled 3 rushing TDs. Keep an eye on the injury report this week. He was limited in practice on Wednesday (knee). As of Thursday, he has a questionable rating. Chances are he is a go, but just be aware of the situation. Chicago is a tough matchup, they have only allowed 3 rushing TDs to opposing running backs so far this year. As of Thursday morning, the Bears had 2 players listed as questionable at both the safety and linebacker positions. Even still, this is a tougher matchup for Miller.

New York Giants Rookie - Pyro Character

17.     Andre Williams (at Dal - Sunday, 4:25pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #20 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Williams is a hard-nosed runner, and showed that early in last week’s game when he steam-rolled Malcom Jenkins. Andre is not a flashy runner, he a straight-ahead bruiser who lacks top end speed. Williams is a running back that looks for contact, which prevents him from breaking long runs. Currently the rookie is only averaging 3.3 YPC, and has a long run of 23 yards. The benefit for Williams is that he is the goal line back for the Giants. Prior to the Giants being shut out last week, Andre had a touchdown in each of the two previous games. This week he faces a Dallas defense that is riding high after defeating the Seahawks in Seattle last week. The Cowboys are holding down quarterbacks and receivers, in which they are top four in each category, but running backs and tight ends have found success. Williams is not going to blow up for 100 yards in this game, but he is a good candidate to score a touchdown.

Ahmad Bradshaw Pyro Character

18.     Ahmad Bradshaw (vs. Cin - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #13 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Colts are home to the Bengals this week. Bradshaw got another receiving TD last week, bringing his total to 5 receiving TDs in six games this year. Bradshaw is clearly the most talented back in Indy. However, his injury history is wisely limiting his touches. Richardson has 87 attempts on the year to Bradshaw’s 60. So far, Steven Ridley has been the only back who has put up over 100 yards against the Bengals. So, I do not think Bradshaw will get a rushing TD, but catching one is a definite possibility. Bradshaw has 10 red zone targets this year, leading all running backs.

Ronnie Hillman - Pyro Character

19.     Ronnie Hillman (vs. SF - Sunday Night, 8:30pm ET - TV: NBC)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #31 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Hillman got the role as the lead man last week, and ran for 100 yards on 24 attempts. What made that performance even more impressive was that it came against a very stout Jets defense. Ronnie was held out of the endzone, but did add another 16 yards on three receptions. This week he will face yet another tough run defense. The 49ers are holding running backs to 11.6 fantasy points per week, which is second best in the league. This matchup looks tough on paper, but the Broncos are 17-2 at home since Peyton Manning has arrived in Denver. Manning is able to exploit defenses in the mile-high air, and force them to play catch up. The Broncos will still feature a balanced attack, and Hillman is going to get his carries, as well as opportunities in the passing game. So while it is still a difficult matchup, Ronnie should be able to find some success this week.

Chris Ivory - Pyro Character

20.     Chris Ivory (at NE - Thursday Night, 8:25pm ET - TV: CBS/NFL Network)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #16 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Joique Bell - Pyro Character

21.     Joique Bell (vs. NO - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-11 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Joique Bell has seen his efficiency drop so far this season but is still getting a nice volume to warrant being in your lineup on a weekly basis. Last week against Minnesota Bell had his best game of the season, rushing 18 times for 74 yards and a touchdown. He also added 2 catches for 23 yards. With Reggie Bush returning this week and going against the team that drafted him, he should be out for some revenge which means Bell probably won’t see the same workload he normally would. The Saints are giving up nearly 22 points a game to opposing runners so Bell should be  a decent play as the Lions look to be without Calvin Johnson again and trying to keep Drew Brees off the field.

Cincinnati Bengals Rookie - Pyro Character

22.     Jeremy Hill (at Ind - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-11 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Bengals travel to face the Colts this Sunday. In the last three weeks, only 9 teams are allowing more fantasy points to opposing RBs (20.5 per week). Last week, Gio had his first 100 yard rushing day against the Panthers. In the last two weeks, Gio has 31 rushing attempts to Hill’s 10. Hill was able to score last week and even had another that was called back. Hill caught 4 passes for 13 yards. But, he was running up right and did not look quick. He ended the day with 2.8 yard average.  On the year, Hill has 36 attempts to Gio’s 86. Hill has 3 TDs, to Gios 4 (all 7 on the ground).  In the pass game, Hill has 9 receptions from 10 targets. Gio has 18 receptions from 27 targets. I think we can safely say the 180 touches he was hyped to be getting was preseason coaching hype. Hill, who was supposed to be the goal line back, has just 6 red zone rushes or just 24%. Gio on the other hand, has 15 red zone rushes, accounting for 60% of the team’s ground attack inside the 20. If you are starting Hill, you are counting on a TD for any kind of relevance, and to be honest, they are leaning more on Bernard when they get in close. I own Hill in two leagues and he is on my bench, frankly it was not even a tough call.

Shane Vereen - Pyro Character

23.     Shane Vereen (vs. NYJ - Thursday Night, 8:25pm ET - TV: CBS/NFL Network)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #28 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Shane Vereen’s value just got a huge bump with the season ending injury to Stevan Ridley. Vereen is now the unquestioned top back,  on the team but with Belicheck at the helm that still doesn’t mean much for a bump in value, but should see an increase when the game is still on the line. Vereen will have a tough task ahead when he is asked to run on Thursday night with the powerful Jets front line dominant against the run, allowing just 13.5 fantasy points a game to opposing runners so far this season. Vereen should get a ton of snaps though this week as the Jets are susceptible against the pass game, so Vereen should get to work in his comfort zone for a majority of the game.

Trent Richardson - Pyro Character

24.     Trent Richardson (vs. Cin - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #13 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Colts see the Bengals come to town this Sunday. In three games against the Bengals, Trent has 2 TDs (one rushing and one through the air). In those games, he is averaging  4.26 yards per carry. Out of the six teams he has played at least three times, he enjoys his best yards per carry average against the Bengals. Trent is a flex play who has a good shot at turning out a decent game this week. He is a durable guy, and as explosive as his counterpart, Bradshaw, has been, that is a guy that is known to be injury prone. The Colts are mindful of this. Richardson has 87 attempts on the year to Bradshaw’s 60. So far, Steven Ridley has been the only back who has put up over 100 yards against the Bengals. I do not expect Richardson to make it two, but he could be serviceable at the flex spot.

Minnesota Vikings Rookie - Pyro Character

25.     Jerick McKinnon (at Buf - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #32 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

McKinnon was the lead back for the Vikings last week with 17 total touches. He had been splitting time with Matt Asiata, but Asiata only had three touches for 13 yards in the game. The Vikings realize that McKinnon gives them the best game breaker at the running back position, but he is still not going to get the goal line carries, which will be Asiata’s domain. This week it is not going to get any easier for Jerick, as he faces the Bills and their number one defense against running backs, holding them a scant 10.5 fantasy points per game. McKinnon should once again get the majority of touches, but he is going to have a hard time finding a lot of space against the Bills this week.

C.J. Spiller - Pyro Character

26.     C.J. Spiller (vs. Min - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #5 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

The Bills are home to the Vikings in week #7. In the last 3 weeks, only the Falcons are allowing more fantasy points to opposing RBs. So, it should be in the cards for Buffalo RBs. But if you ask me, Jackson will be the one to benefit. If you add up Spiller’s last sixteen games, a full season, he only has 1 rushing TD, 1 passing TD, and a total of 4 games where he rushed for over 70 yards. In the last 3 games, Spiller’s attempts have dwindled from 15, to 10, and then last week, he received a total of 6… touches. Fred Jackson, on the other hand, has a total of 42 touches in that same time. Anthony freakin’ Dixon got more rushing attempts in week #6 than Spiller did.  The writing is on the wall. If you can package Spiller in a trade, go for it. But at this point you may be stuck.

Pierre Thomas - Pyro Character

27.     Pierre Thomas (at Det - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-26 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Pierre Thomas’ value takes a bit of a hit this week as Mark Ingram returns from his wrist injury and works himself back into the rotation. In the two games with Ingram on the field Thomas scored 8.9 and 3.2 fantasy points, but without him Thomas was able to have his best game of the season, putting up 23.2 the last time the Saints played against Tampa Bay. Thomas could see an uptick in production this week though without Superstar Jimmy Graham on the field. Against a stiff rush defense in Detroit the only way it looks the Saints will be able to move the ball is through the air, so Thomas should get a lot of the snaps this week. Look for Thomas to have the best day of any Saint runner this week.

Jonathan Stewart - Pyro Character

28.     Jonathan Stewart (at GB - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #6 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Jacksonville Jaguars Rookie - Pyro Character

29.     Storm Johnson (vs. Cle - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #7 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Johnson was on a strict 10-carry limit last week, and unfortunately he was not able to do much with those, rushing for only 21 yards. This week he should be allowed to handle a larger workload, and could have some success against the Browns, who are allowing 22 fantasy points per game to running backs. The Jaguars welcomed back Cecil Shorts and Marquise Lee last week, and that should help to take some pressure off the running game. In their two road games this season, the Browns have allowed 367 rushing yards against.

James Starks - Pyro Character

30.     James Starks (vs. Car - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #3 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Darren McFadden - Pyro Character

31.     Darren McFadden (vs. Ari - Sunday, 4:25pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-26 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Darren McFadden looks to have pulled ahead in the race of veteran backs to impede the play of the young Latavious Murray. McFadden had one of his best games in recent memory last week against the Chargers. DMC looked spry in rushing 14 times for 80 yards and was able to weave his way to some nice games. This week it is doubtful he looks as spry, going up against a Cardinal run defense that is allowing just 11.9 fantasy points a game to opposing runners.

Frank Gore - Pyro Character

32.     Frank Gore (at Den - Sunday Night, 8:30pm ET - TV: NBC)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #19 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Frank Gore has been a middle of the road RB2 all season long, and coming off two 100 yard games in a row and having a nice matchup with the Rams on the schedule he did exactly what you would expect, or not!! He rushed 16 times for 38 yards and was held out of the endzone and without catch on his 1 target. Gore is a bit hit or miss so far this season and has been replaced near the endzone then a back with no pass catching skills would like.

Bishop Sankey Pyro Character

33.     Bishop Sankey (at Was - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-29 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Bishop finally got his chance last week against the Jaguars to show what he could do as a lead back, and the results were not what his owners were hoping for. Sankey finally got a decent workload, with 19 total touches, but he only amassed 68 total yards, and was held out of the endzone. The most frustrating moment of the game happened when the Titans got down to the 1-yard line, and they went with Jackie Battle over Sankey for the touchdown. Bishop’s value takes a major hit if they don’t trust him around the goal line. This week he heads to Washington, and will face a tough run defense. Washington is allowing quarterbacks to tear them apart, but they are holding opposing running backs to 11.7 fantasy points per game, which is third best in the league. While Bishop is getting the chances, he has still not shown enough in games to trust this week in fantasy.

Cleveland Browns Rookie - Pyro Character

34.     Isaiah Crowell (at Jac - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #10 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Brandon Bolden - Pyro Character

35.     Brandon Bolden (vs. NYJ - Thursday Night, 8:25pm ET - TV: CBS/NFL Network)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #28 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Jets RB - Pyro Character

36.     Chris Johnson (at NE - Thursday Night, 8:25pm ET - TV: CBS/NFL Network)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #16 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Johnson has become an afterthought in fantasy football this year, and has been dropped in 29% of CBS fantasy leagues. It’s hard to blame them, since Week 1 when he rushed for 68 yards, Johnson has not run for more than 50 yards in any game. In fact, in his last five games CJ only has 132 yards on 38 carries, with one touchdown. Over the past two weeks he only has 33 yards on 10 carries. His use in the offense continues to diminish and he can’t be recommended this week.

Baltimore Ravens Rookie - Pyro Character

37.     Lorenzo Taliaferro (vs. Atl - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #1 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Jacksonville Jaguars RB - Pyro Character

38.     Denard Robinson (vs. Cle - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #7 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Roy Helu - Pyro Character

39.     Roy Helu (vs. Ten - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #9 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Knile Davis - Pyro Character

40.     Knile Davis (at SD - Sunday, 4:05pm ET - TV: CBS)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #24 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Steven Jackson - Pyro Character

41.     Steven Jackson (at Bal - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-29 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Steven Jackson has settled in as a weekly flex option for fantasy owners. Those who expected more need to temper their expectations and realize that he is part of one of the leagues largest committees, with 4 players who all see snaps. Jackson is a guy who could have 10+ touches each week but you are really counting on him to score in order to have a big day. This week against the Baltimore Ravens I would look elsewhere as they have allowed just 11.9 fantasy points a game to opposing runners, and on the road they are more likely to put the game in Ryan’s hands to win.

Pittsburgh Steelers - Pyro Character

42.     LeGarrette Blount (vs. Hou - Monday Night, 8:30pm ET - TV: ESPN)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #14 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Carolina Panthers RB - Pyro Character

43.     Chris Ogbonnaya (at GB - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #6 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

New Orleans Saints RB - Pyro Character

44.     Mark Ingram (at Det - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-26 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Mark Ingram is returning to health this week after missing the last month with a wrist injury. Unfortunately for him and his owners he is going up against a very stiff run defense in the form of the Detroit Lions. While Ingram was on a tear to start the season averaging 6 yards a carry and scoring three times in two games it is unfair to expect that production this week. Pretend like he is still out this week and go with another option.

St. Louis Rams RB - Pyro Character

45.     Benny Cunningham (vs. Sea - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #25 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Minnesota Vikings RB - Pyro Character

46.     Matt Asiata (at Buf - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #32 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Zac Stacy - Pyro Character

47.     Zac Stacy (vs. Sea - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #25 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Stacy was quite ineffective last week with only 17 yards on eight carries, with 17 more yards on two receptions. The result of that performance was that Jeff Fisher has decided to go with a committee approach going forward. Zac only has 3.9 YPC average, and has not had any big plays this season, with his longest run going for 16 yards. Last week Benny Cunningham, Tre Mason and Tavon Austin all received rushing attempts. The Rams are looking for big plays, and Stacy is just not producing those. This week he will travel to Seattle, who is coming off an embarrassing loss at home to the Cowboys. This is not going to be a good week for Stacy, and his prospects look slim going forward.

Oakland Raiders - Pyro Character

48.     Maurice Jones-Drew (vs. Ari - Sunday, 4:25pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #T-26 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Bernard Pierce Pyro Character

49.     Bernard Pierce (vs. Atl - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)

Week 7 PYRO Strength of Schedule:  Rank #1 (Rank: 1=Easiest  32=Hardest)

Bernard Pierce has been entrenched in a committee in the Ravens backfield as of late, and as a group the unit is putting up a very respectable 23.5 fantasy points a game, so there is no reason to think that they will go away from this approach. Pierce did score his first touchdown of the season last week against the Bucs, but other than that he was his unproductive self this season, rushing 15 times for 32 yards. While the matchup is the best it could possibly be against an Atlanta rush defense that is allowing 29.1 fantasy points a game to opposing runners, Pierce is clearly third in the pecking order right now and should be avoided.

Atlanta Falcons RB - Pyro Character

50.     Antone Smith (at Bal - Sunday, 1:00pm ET - TV: FOX)
