2012 Pros and Cons

(+) For a rookie WR, 65 catches, 1,057 yards and seven TDs is pretty outstanding

(+) His QB was also a rookie and a pro-bowler…and now they’ve actually had a full season and off-season to gel together

(+) Had four 100-yard games (in 15 games)

(+) Already considered in the same league as Larry Fitzgerald when talking about the best hands in the league

(+) Speed, Size, Smarts.  He runs pristine routes, can go deep and isn't afraid to catch the ball in traffic

(+) Tough to find a more highly touted/drafted (4th overall) wideout to have delivered so quickly in his career

(+) Had 115 targets last season – a number that will increase dramatically in 2012

(+) WR Jordan Shipley is set to return from injury and add another dimension to the passing attack

(+) BenJarvis Green-Ellis is a consistent back, but it's on A.J. and Andy to win games

(+) Green is probably the most Randy Moss-esque wide receiver we've seen in awhile and he comes without the character issues

(–) Was held to four catches or less eight times last season

(–) Was held under 70 yards eight times as well, including five games under 41 yards

(–) Green will be the focal point of any defensive scheme against the Bengals, which could mean plenty of double- or even triple-teaming

(–) The potential for a sophomore slump is there, though it’s a little less likely for a player of his caliber

(–) Was held without a TD in his final five games (including the postseason) and under 60 yards in four of them

Green looking forward to Green Bay

A.J. Green has struggled to get going this season, with 10 receptions for 141 yards and no touchdowns. This week he faces a Packers defense that could be without Mike Daniels and Ahmad Brooks. Julio Jones had 108 yards against the Packers last week, and without the pass rush of Daniels Green should be able to make more plays downfield this week. The Bengals are looking for their first touchdown of the season, and Dalton wants it to be a passing touchdown to A.J.

A.J. Green on Thursday Night Football is usually a good time!

Last year, A.J. Green played one Thursday night game... against Miami. He finished that outing with 10 catches on 12 targets for 173 yards and a had a 7-yard touchdown catch.

Fantasy Goo: I expect 15+ targets for A.J. tonight in a much-needed bounce back game. The Bengals will turn it around and beat the Texans and everyone will forget how absolutely terrible they played in Week 1. If they suck again, cry that you drafted A.J. Green over players on better teams.

Green Missed Both Baltimore Games Last Season

A.J. Green missed both of his tilts against the Ravens last season, foregoing a chance to play against one of the team he feasts on. In 2015, AJ Played the Ravens twice and one was a completely dominant performance catching 10 of his 13 targets for 227 yards and two touchdowns. His second game saw him catch four of his five targets for 34 yards and another score.

In his career Green averages nearly the same catches and targets, but has a higher touchdown rate and yards per catch average. Just another week to get Green into those lineups people.

A.J. Green rises above OBJr in our last Pyro Collective WR Tiers for '17

The high ankle sprain is a blow to all OBJ fans, but what it is doing is creating a bit of value for Beckham Jr. He was the 3rd thru 5th pick before the injury. Usually going ahead of Julio Jones and behind Antonio Brown.

Fantasy Goo: OBJ will play week 1 and if he doesn't, it's probably a good thing for his owners. Let him heal. I personally would take Julio over Antonio in any draft and it appears the Pyro Collective is agreeing with that surprisingly, but I firmly believe that these 3 WRs are the right picks after David Johnson and Le'Veon Bell. Consistency goes to Brown, but I feel like OBJ and JJ could break long-standing NFL records for a wide receiver any season now. The first 2k season from one or both of these guys is coming...

A.J. Will Make You Some Green In 2017 Fantasy Leagues

A.J. Green finished with the 4th most fantasy points per game in 2016 despite only finishing 9 games on the year.

Fantasy Goo: The additions of the speedster John Ross and the top-notch talent, RB Joe Mixon should open up the middle of the field for A.J. to work. Also, there were only 2 games last season where A.J. and Tyler Eifert were both healthy expect a big year from AJG.

Green Looking to Lengthen the Mean Streak

In his last four meetings with the Pittsburgh Steelers, AJ Green has 3 TDs and 556 yards.

Fantasy Goo: I fully expect the streak to continue. In Week #1, he led all WRs with .95 FF Points per route run. This week, he should face Ross Cockrell. According to PFF, this is the 2nd most favorable WR/CB matchup this week.

Think twice before starting A.J. Green

Be careful if you’re starting Bengals receiver A.J. Green on your fantasy team Sunday. Not only has his production the past two weeks been uninspiring (five points vs. Cleveland, four points vs. Houston, per ESPN’s standard scoring system), but he’ll be facing one of the best corners in the league in Arizona’s Patrick Peterson. With respect to fantasy, Peterson has been a veritable shutdown corner, holding all but two of the receivers he’s faced this season to under eight fantasy points. Only St. Louis’ Tavon Austin (23) and Seattle’s Doug Baldwin (19) hit double-digit production. As division rivals, both wideouts face Peterson and the Cardinals regularly. Green doesn’t. As you gear up your team for the playoffs, perhaps consider starting Cincinnati’s Marvin Jones or Tyler Eifert instead. -- Coley Harvey

A.J. Green caught 5-of-7 targets for 67 yards

Green was missing in action for nearly three quarters. He opened the night catching three passes, then pulled the disappearing act until late in the fourth quarter. He also fumbled the ball away which sealed the win for Houston.

Green has not had over 100-yards nor a touchdown in five of his last six games, he is still a number one receiver, but will need a breakout game soon.

Back-at-it

Finally! Owners now can relax and have him in their lineups. This should make the team more well-rounded, and assist Andy Dalton in the passing game.

If you own Sanu or Little, make sure to adjust your lineup accordingly. Little will most likely be moved to the third wide receiver, and Sanu at the two.

Its starting to become apparent that the Bengals are going to have to make a decision soon. If the Bengals start to slip further into the standings, and Green is still out, look for Cincinnati to medically IR him for the rest of the season.

At this point, hold on to Sanu, and make sure Green is out of lineup.

His second game saw him catch four of his five targets for 34 yards and another score.

Consistency goes to Brown, but I feel like OBJ and JJ could break long-standing NFL records for a wide receiver any season now. The first 2k season from one or both of these guys is coming...

In 2015, AJ Played the Ravens twice and one was a completely dominant performance catching 10 of his 13 targets for 227 yards and two touchdowns. His second game saw him catch four of his five targets for 34 yards and another score.

AJ Green has been spotted!

Fantasy Goo: It is still uncertain whether Green will be ready to go for Week 15, but he must be owned in all leagues.

Green with a Torn Hammy

Going in for an MRI today to confirm... Green has been diagnosed with a strain (small tear)

Fantasy Goo: We know he's one of the best in the league. Don't sulk. Instead go grab Tyler Boyd and try to retain some of AJ Green's value for the rest of the season.

Look for Green to be out most of this week for precautionary measures. They have the Steelers this week and a chance to be the third seed instead of the fifth. Green is gonna play.

Back-at-it

Finally! Owners now can relax and have him in their lineups. This should make the team more well-rounded, and assist Andy Dalton in the passing game.

If you own Sanu or Little, make sure to adjust your lineup accordingly. Little will most likely be moved to the third wide receiver, and Sanu at the two.

Doubtful

Its starting to become apparent that the Bengals are going to have to make a decision soon. If the Bengals start to slip further into the standings, and Green is still out, look for Cincinnati to medically IR him for the rest of the season.

At this point, hold on to Sanu, and make sure Green is out of lineup.

Green as Money

Giving it a shot, is like Jimmy Graham giving it a shot last week. Let's just table AJ Green for this week, unless your desperate in need of putting a wide receiver in your line-up.
