Chris Hogan

New England Patriots

Primed for Monday Return

Hogan has been out the past four weeks and has basically caused me a playoff berth in one of my dynasty leagues. If you’re still in it I’d get him into the line-up. With Gronk out Hogan should see a solid number of targets.

Gronkowski in a Great Spot for Week 13

Chris Hogan did not practice Thursday. The Pats WR, targeted heavily around the goal line, has not played since Week #8.

Fantasy Goo: The Patriots pass catcher that is targeted around the goal line the most is Gronk. Considering the Pats have the hihgest implied score this week(32, allow me to rephrase... thirty-freakin-two), and the opposing dolphins allows the highest red zone efficiency to the opposition. Gronk should smash!

Tom Brady

New England Patriots

Brady a Top Bet for DFS Cash Games

The Patriots stayed in mile-high country last week in order to get acclimated to higher altitudes. The Raiders remained at sea level. This week they square off in Mexico City, which is much higher than one mile up. The difference could be seen in the 2nd half where the Raiders could run out of gas.

Fantasy Goo: Regardless of the elevation narrative, this game opened as the only 50 pointer this coming week. Football Outsiders ranks Oakland dead last for defensive DVOA, weighted defense, and overall pass ranking. Plus, Tom Brady is a great stack with Gronk against Oakland who is notoriously bad versus tight ends. Finally, New England will likely be missing Hogan, the recipient of 11 red zone targets this season. Gronk could easily be the beneficiary, as he has 13 himself.

Guess Who's Back? Brady’s Back, Back Again And He Doesn't Skip A Beat As He Gets The Patriots Offense Into High Gear

Tom Brady completed 28-of-40 passes for 406 yards and three touchdowns in New England's Week 5 win over the Browns.

Fantasy Goo: Brady showed no rust in his return and was in sync with the offense. The veteran QB was able to spread the ball around to multiple receivers, completing passes to seven different players. He looks like he is in midseason form.

Rob Gronkowski caught 5-of-7 targets for 109 yards. Although he did not score, he did provide his owners with confidence that the real Gronk is back and ready to roll for the remainder of the 2016 season.

Martellus Bennett caught 6-of-8 targets for 67 yards and three TD's. The Black Unicorn wasted no time showing Brady he is here in New England to produce. Bennett made the most of each target scoring three touchdowns on six receptions. Adding yet another option in this high powered offense look for Bennett to continue to provide another option for fantasy owners weekly.

Chris Hogan caught 4-of-5 targets for 114 yards. Seven-Eleven lead the Patriots in yardage on Sunday despite only getting five targets. It looks like he may become Tom's deep ball threat in the offense and the two were able to connect on two long passes of 43 and 63 yards. If the connection can continue then he is someone to target in fantasy leagues.

Julian Edelman caught five of 10 passes for 35 yards. Expect the double-digit targets to continue for Edelman as he is Brady's favorite receiver and the production should increase as well.

James White rushed five times for 26 yards and added four receptions for 63 additional yards. White was utilized as the third-down back for the Patriots this role has extra value when Tom Brady is QB as he likes to use his running backs in the passing game and there will be weeks that White may lead the team in targets coming out of the backfield it is safe to say he should have solid value in PPR formats.

Danny Amendola caught 2-of-2 targets for 11 yards he is listed as the WR3 but falls behind fellow receivers Julain Edelman and Chris Hogan as well as tight ends Martellus Bennett and Rob Gronkowski in the pecking order for targets. There is not much to go around for Amendola and he is not a fantasy option unless an injury occurs.

LeGarrette Blount rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. An early touchdown helped fantasy owners. Expect a similiar workload for Blount going forward and he will be the goal line back which will help to increase his value.

Chris "Seven-Eleven" Hogan Listed as Questionable For Week Two

Chris Hogan (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Fantasy Goo: Hogan was a full participant in practice this week so the questionable tag is surprising. The wide receiver more than likely would have been probable if the NFL still had that designation. But keep an eye on his status up until game time.

Chris "Seven - Eleven" Hogan To Have an Evolving Role In Patriots Offense

Patriots WR Chris Hogan expects his role to evolve "week by week." "There are going to be a lot of opportunities for all of us," Hogan said. "Week by week" is a safe bet in what is always a game-plan specific offense.

Fantasy Goo: Hogan could be a breakout player this year. With the Patriots only carrying four wide receivers on the roster it looks like Hogan could see his share of targets. With fellow receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola playing the same position at the slot that leaves Hogan and rookie Malcolm Mitchell on the outside. Hogan is a good target in later rounds for fantasy owners looking to add depth to their reciever corp.

Chris Hogan Making His Presence Felt At Patriots Camp

New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan appears to have a firm grip on the team's No. 3 receiver position, according to the Providence Journal.

Fantasy Goo: Chris 24/7 Hogan was one of the stars of the team's minicamp, catching the third most passes. Given how injury prone Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are, it wouldn't be surprising to see Hogan play significant snaps in his first year with Tom Brady. He is a deep sleeper worth taking a stab at in the later rounds of fantasy drafts.

Best WR on the field so far by quite a bit

Best WR on the field so far by quite a bit. Obviously Edelman and Amendola have been out, though. – Jeff Howe: New England Patriots beat writer

Fantasy Goo: Have you noticed the past year or two some guy you never heard of making the highlight reel 3 or 4 times per year but, you scratched your head when you heard the guy’s name was Chris Hogan? Over the past two years in Buffalo he grabbed 77 passes and scored 6 times. Typically, this guy would be easily forgettable. Now however, he is a New England Patriot and Tom Brady is one of the masters of turning decent wide receivers into household names. If Chris Hogan finds his way into some good playing time he could be a waiver wire candidate in 2016. He may not have true kick ass skills though and that is okay as long as he can make Tom and Bill happy. In NFL history Tom Brady has made the most from the least (Randy Moss of course is a top 5 WR of all-time).

The Patriots stayed in mile-high country last week in order to get acclimated to higher altitudes. The Raiders remained at sea level.

The Patriots stayed in mile-high country last week in order to get acclimated to higher altitudes. The Raiders remained at sea level.

Hogan 2nd in Red Zone Targets

Second only to Fitzgerald, Chris Hogan has 8 red zone targets so far this season. Not only that, he is second in total team target share. Finally, he is 3rd in team air yards.

Malcolm Mitchell

New England Patriots

Patritos WRs Limited in PRactice all week

Mitchell, Hogan, and Amendola were only able to log partial practices all week.

Fantasy goo: While I like Mitchell the best, he lead all Patriots WRs with red zone targets in December logging 12, missing practice is a concern. I will own maybe 10% Mitchell, maybe have 5% Hogan and that is it of these three.

OUT For Patriots

Hogan and Gronk did not travel with the team to SFO.

Fantasy Goo: This means an uptick in targets for Edelman, Amendola and Bennett. Play your active Patriots in this positive matchup.
