The Asleepening: Michael to IR

Pyro's take: Christine Michael will not be available for the Colts in 2017. He was placed on the IR.

Fantasy Goo: Robert Turbin has been getting hyped, as has their rookie Marlon Mack. With Michael out of the picture we will have a more clear idea on who will end up being the 34 year old running back's handcuff.

The Awakening: Indianapolis Edition

Pyro's take: Christine Michael has signed with the Colts and will be joining Frank Gore and Marlon Mack in the backfield.

Fantasy Goo: With Gore at age 34 this is a good signing for the Colts. Marlon Mack seems to be next in line for reps, but his competition level at USF may lead to an adjustment period. Michael is worth a late round flier and could be a great play in DFS.

The Awakening Takes Another Nap

Pyro's take: Christine Michael had an "awakening" as described by Pete Carroll last pre-season. Despite his relative effectiveness last season, Michael has again been cut. This time by the Packers.

Fantasy Goo: Michael was a fantasy relevant option getting 10+ looks in each of the first 8 games for Seattle. He has the ability to be a fantasy asset if he finds himself on a new team with a hole at RB.

The Awakening Continues

Pyro's take: Christine Micheal signed to stay on the Packers as he continues his "Awakening".

Fantasy Goo: Michael projects to be splitting reps Ty Montgomery, and the Packers likely aren't done adding pieces to their backfield.

Michael Downgraded to Questionable for the Conference Championship

Pyro's take: C-Mike has been downgraded to Questionable ahead of Sunday's conference championship against the Falcons. This game opened with nearly a 60 point over under.

Fantasy Goo: There is going to be scoring a plenty in this game, just don't count on C-Mike. Ty Monty is a fantastic DFS play

Starks Ruled Out

Pyro's take: Starks has been ruled out. Perhaps C-Mike picks up a few carries, but still, Monty should likely have the best fantasy day.

Fantasy Goo: Ty Montgomery was targeted 12 times when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season. He caught 10 for 98 yards. At the time, C-Mike was still a Seahawk, but with his catching ability, Monty is a double weapon on the field.

Full Back Ripkowski QUESTIONABLE

Pyro's take: If indeed he is out, Michael could get some more inside work. Rip got nine carries in Week 17. However, his normal workload is just a handful.

Fantasy Goo: Even just a handful of additional carries should give C-Mike a boost in DFS value. The Giants are incredibly tough against the pass, so perhaps McCarthy will look to run a bit more. In the last 5 weeks, the Giants have allowed 3 different RBs to go for triple-digit running days and/or score a rushing TD. C-Mike is a contrarian play. Monty is attractive because he has a huge ceiling, something you look for in GPP, plus he gets it done on the ground and through the air.

Starks Out for Week 15

Pyro's take: The Packers have a murky RB situation. Starks is out. C-Mike has an illness. He could not practice Thursday and it is unclear exactly how much he was able to do Friday, but safe to say, very little.

Fantasy Goo: This is going to be a frigid game as temperatures will feel like below zero. Monty could be the play, but only if he counts as a WR in your league.

Packers Doctors Prescribe Adderall

Pyro's take: Hopefully in the last C-Mike update of the year, Packers have claimed him off waivers.

Fantasy Goo: This makes the Starks/Monty/C-Mike splits even more unclear. Don't start any of them until the snaps are more clear. However, C-Mike could be a solid pickup again if owners over-reacted to his release.

The Awakening Got Put in Sleep Mode

Pyro's take: The Seahawks have released C-Mike yet again for "off the field issues".

Fantasy Goo: This implies that Thomas Rawls should be good-to-go this week, scoop him up in all formats and he could be a great value in DFS.

Oh Jimmy You're So Fine, You're so Fine You... Can Start On my DFS Lineup Anytime

Pyro's take: This game opened at 48.5 and Vegas is giving 7.5 pts to the Patriots. So it will either be a pass heavy game-script for Seattle, or as I suspect, it will be a lot closer as Seattle has been playing much better lately.

Fantasy Goo: In the last 3 weeks only 1 TE is getting more targets than Graham. The only thing that is worrisome is Wild bill's predilection for taking out the opposition's best asset. This and the Christine Michael injury is another reason I also like Prosise.

C-Mike Added to Injury Report Late Friday

Pyro's take: Apparently, Michael suffered a hamstring injury at practice late on Friday. He was added to the injury report after practice and is currently listed as QUESTIONABLE.

Fantasy Goo: Friday practices are often vital. If a guy can not log at least a partial practice, then I am usually concerned. In Michael's case, the worry is even greater as he was not on the report all week and was only added after he suffered an injury during practice. That does not bode well for him. However, if
Prosise is available, grab him now. This is the late Sunday game, but if indeed C-Mike does play, Prosise will get work in a negative game-script versus the Packers. You have an exit strategy of going with Paul Perkins, who plays Monday, just in case.

CMike Can't Be Ignored

Pyro's take: Per Ian Rapoport Thomas Rawls has a hairline fracture in his fibula and is expected to miss at least 4 weeks.

Fantasy goo: While this is certainly devastating to fantasy players that spent a high(ish) draft pick on Rawls, at least the crowded Seattle backfield has gained clarity for a time. Christine Michael has been extremely effective this season and is on pace for over 1200 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 5.2 yards per carry so far.

Rawls, Prosise Out Week 3

Pyro's take: Michael looks to shoulder the heavy load in Week 3.

Fantasy Goo: With both Prosise and Rawls out, CMike looks to continue his dominance despite horrific O-line play.

Running Back by Confusion

Christine Michael could be the Seahawks’ main man in the backfield, post-Marshawn Lynch, after all. Michael emerged as the focal point — and just about the only point — of the Seahawks’ running game.

Pyro's take: Christine Michael could be the Seahawks’ main man in the backfield, post-Marshawn Lynch, after all. Michael emerged as the focal point — and just about the only point — of the Seahawks’ running game. That’s because Thomas Rawls missed the final 2 ½ quarters with a leg injury.

Fantasy Goo: Seattle would love for Rawls to get on track but, this injury muddies the water yet again. Michael also once again out shined Thomas Rawls. Nobody should start Rawls until they see one solid week of at the very least 6o yards. Until then I hope you have someone else to throw in. Michael is not spectacular and the Seahawks have not been playing the way have the past few years. The Seahawks are a mess. Seattle appears to have lost their “edge”. If you have been expecting Thomas Rawls to lead your backfield I would start to panic if you are 0-2. There are a couple very minor waiver wire RBs you can go with in the meantime.

Thomas Rawls Still On Pace To Be Ready Week One

Thomas Rawls recovery

Pyro's take: Thomas Rawls recovery from a broken ankle, which ended his season last December, is going along as planned. On Wednesday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Rawls will be out there for the Seahawks' season opener against the Dolphins two Sundays from now.
"He continued to have a great week," Carroll said, "There's no question that he looks to be able to play in the opener."

Fantasy Goo: The big question is will there be some kind of split with Rawls and Christine Michael in the backfield. Michael seems to have turned the corner in his career and had a very good preseason leading Carroll to call the duo a "one-two punch" at one point in camp. Rawls hasn't played in the preseason but could in the team's final contest. Either way, he could be eased into things if he is active Week 1.

Seahawks Running Game Unclear

The injury issue that's been hurting the Seahawks since camp opened kept a number of players from even suiting up, including running back C.J. Prosise.

Pyro's take: The injury issue that's been hurting the Seahawks since camp opened kept a number of players from even suiting up, including running back C.J. Prosise.

Fantasy Goo: Along with C.J. Prosise you can add Thomas Rawls. Rawls is currently going in the 3rd round, Prosise the 10th round and Christine Michael in the 13th in 12 team standard mock drafts. Nobody likes to see another man licking his girlfriend’s titties. Christine may have a girls name but, he is not a girl so it would not be like some hot chick named Christine licking your girlfriend’s boobies. DARN!! Christine, the man, was left for dead until the Seattle Seahawks brought him back. In the first preseason game of this year while Rawls sat out, Christine Michael looked good with 7 rushes for 44 yards. Rumor has Pete Carroll willing to go with a 1 – 2 punch with Rawls and Michael in 2016. Rawls owners want none of that talk. I loved watching Rawls run last year as he runs as if he is possessed. Prosise who was drafted by Seattle in the 3rd round should see a nice number of passes his way as the PPR option of the bunch. Once Thomas Rawls gets back to 100% I believe he will look the same as last year. We will have to worry about his running style leading to injury though.

Pete Carroll reiterated Monday that the Seahawks will continue forward with an RBBC approach.

Pyro's take: Liz Mathews "On the #Seahawks running back group, Carroll said he likes all the "variants." Said will feature Brown and Michael this week in practice."

Christine Michael may not even dress

Pyro's take: The word coaches have used to explain why things didn't work out for Michael in Seattle the first two years he was here is inconsistency. Offensive line coach/assistant head coach Tom Cable is in charge of the Seahawks' running game. He was asked to explain exactly what he meant by inconsistency.

"Around here, when you’re all in, that means you come to work every day and you do things right the best you can every day," Cable said. "And that kind of sums up ... that’s the only way I can answer that."

The Seahawks traded Michael to the Dallas Cowboys for a conditional seventh-round pick in September. He lasted just five games there before being released.

Michael has said all the right things about being humbled and thankful for the opportunity. But how much of the coaches' trust could he have earned in a few days of practice? Michael is talented, so if he gets chances, he could make the most of them. But it's also possible that he doesn't even dress, despite what Carroll said.--Sheil Kapadia

Seahawks signed RB Christine Michael.

Pyro's take: Adam Schefter via Twitter "Seahawks have signed RB Christine Michael. Another back in the fold in Seattle."

Michael knows the system and is more than a practice player. Look for him and Brown to share the load.
