Braxton Miller Ruled Out for Week 14

Pyro's take: Bill O'Brien confirmed that Miller will be out for Week 14. J Strong sent to IR

Fantasy Goo: You can't trust any of the other Houston WRs despite more targets now available with the loss of Miller. In anything, Hopkins is more appealing. Not only should he see a bump in workload, he has a great matchup versus Vontae Davis. Davis has absolutely lost a step, PFF ranks him as cornerback 107.

Someone Buy Nuk a QB

Pyro's take: Hopkins is one of eleven WRs to get over 105 targets on the year, despite this he has disappointed owners. He looks to turn it around against the division rival Colts.

Fantasy Goo: Nuk will draw coverage from Vontae Davis, although seen as a "shutdown corner" by analysts like Collinsworth, PFF grades Davis at 106th. This should allow Nuk the separation to allow even Brock to hit him.

Snow to Play a Factor in GB

Pyro's take: There should be 1-3 inches of snow in Green Bay today.

Fantasy Goo: This should make it a more ball control game with less shots downfield. Bump up Randall Cobb in PPR and temper expectations for stretch the field players like Jordy.

Houston…We Have Lift-Off

Fuller finished with five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Pyro's take: Fuller finished with five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown. Fuller has quickly given the Texans a second weapon in the passing game, along with DeAndre Hopkins, that requires attention from more than one defender.

Fantasy Goo: Will Fuller runs a 4.32. That is BLAZING! With opponents worried about mega star DeAndre Hopkins the field is open for Will Fuller to shoot like a bolt of lightning anywhere he pleases. Questions about his hands will surface time to time but, few speedsters ever have had great hands. Will Fuller caught 5 out of the 11 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown. 11 targets are a dream-come-true. If that were to continue we would not care if he dropped a couple. 11 targets each week will not happen but, we know that it can happen at least sometimes and that is enough to get the excitement brewing. Fuller is a solid WR3 or Flex play until he proves otherwise and is a cheap DFS play for now. Hopkins owners should be excited as well.

"So far, he's been exactly what we've expected"

Brock Osweiler as expected so far
"So far, he's been exactly what we've expected," O'Brien said.

Pyro's take: Brock Osweiler as expected so far
"So far, he's been exactly what we've expected," O'Brien said. "He works extremely hard. He's a very bright guy. He's a good communicator with his teammates. He's very hard on himself." Osweiler hasn't been all work and no play. He's shown his coaches and teammates he's got a good sense of humor, too. "He's a fun guy to be around, a fun guy to coach -- very competitive on the field," O'Brien said. "He's been exactly what we expected to this point.

Fantasy Goo: Brock Osweiler may not have a tight end worth beans but, he does have a large posse of wide receivers. With DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Jaelen Strong, Braxton Miller and Cecil Shorts who adds veteran leadership, Brock can rest assured that he is not alone. As we have learned, DeAndre Hopkins simply needs someone to pass the ball in the air so he can do what he does best. For fantasy purposes you might want to view Brock as a streamer or someone to keep an eye on in case you have to hit the wire for a replacement quarterback. For dynasty/keeper he could be a solid play in another year or two.

DeAndre Hopkins (hand) is listed as probable for Saturday's Wild Card game against the Chiefs.

Pyro's take: DeAndre Hopkins was a frequent visitor on the injury report over the season, but has not missed a game. He wont miss this one either.

Bill O'Brien said he has no plans to rest players even if the Texans clinch the AFC South

Pyro's take: O'Brien said even if the Texans (8-7) clinch the AFC South on Monday night, rendering the Jaguars' game meaningless in terms of the playoffs, Hoyer will still start if cleared. If the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, the Texans win the AFC South title. O'Brien indicated that he will not rest players against the Jaguars even if that happens.

"I think the most important thing is to win," O'Brien said. "I don't think there's any substitute for winning."

DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Pyro's take: Aaron Wilson via Twitter "Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring), cornerback Johnathan Joseph (knee) and offensive tackle Derek Newton (elbow) were limited."

He should be good to go for Sunday.

DeAndre Hopkins always a sure thing

Pyro's take: Brian Hoyer had thrown multiple touchdowns in the five games he played before the Texans' Monday night game against the Bengals. He's also throwing to DeAndre Hopkins, a player who can make talented defensive backs look foolish. They're both good bets against a Saints defense that has allowed 293.1 passing yards per game. -- Tania Ganguli

DeAndre Hopkins targets should continue to be in doses

Pyro's take: Expect Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ targets to continue to soar with T.J. Yates expected to start against the New York Jets. Yates is the quarterback who threw Hopkins his first NFL touchdown -- albeit in the 2013 preseason. Hopkins is the current Texans receiver with whom Yates is most comfortable. The two of them also have spent time before and after practice this week working together, Hopkins said. Despite missing the official parts of practice Wednesday and Thursday, Hopkins said he is 100 percent healthy. -- Tania Ganguli

DeAndre Hopkins caught 5-of-11 targets for 57 yards and one touchdown

Pyro's take: Hopkins was down in yards and targets tonight against the Bengals. He only had 57-yards on five receptions, he also caught the game winning touchdown. His touchdown was definitely highlight reel material.

He is the highest targeted player in the NFL and it should continue next week against the Jets. Yates will look his way often if Hoyer cannot play.

DeAndre Hopkins caught 11-of-14 targets for 169 yards

Pyro's take: DeAndre Hopkins did Hopkins things as he blasted his way to 11 receptions for 169 yards. Unfortunately he couldnt find the end zone. This marks the second week in a row he hasn't scored, but his 169-yards makes it three weeks consecutive of 100+yards.

Hopkins has now drawn at least 14 targets in three straight games, and is on pace for 240 looks. In the last three games he has 28 receptions for 427-yards and one touchdown.

Nuke to play week 3

Pyro's take: Hopkins has passed the final test of his concussion protocol. He indeed will play in Week #3 for Houston.

Hopkins' rookie season nearly on par with Andre's

Though the Houston Texans' 2013 first-round pick, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, might not have put together the season most were expecting, his final numbers were actually pretty close to what seven-time Pro-Bowler, Andre Johnson put up in his 2003 rookie season.

DeAndre Hopkins in 2013:
52 receptions, 802 yards, 2 TDs, 15.42 YPC

Andre Johnson in 2003:
66 receptions, 976 yards, 4 TDs, 14.79 YPC

(both players started all 16 games)

Pyro's take: Both of their quarterback situations were pretty darn awful ('Dre had a mix of David Carr, Tony Banks and Dave Ragone), so neither wide receiver had an advantage there, either.

I'm not going to say that Hopkins is headed down the same career path as Johnson, but if Houston can come up with some continuity at QB sometime in the next few years, DeAndre could have himself some nice fantasy seasons coming up.

Hopkins is the Kim Kardashian of Houston

Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said Wednesday an obscene video issued from his Instagram account was the result of a hacker and the rookie was adamant he had nothing to do with the images.

“Negative: it’s not my genitals,” said Hopkins, who added his teammates were already making fun of him because of the video.

“These are like my brothers, so my brothers would joke about this as well,” Hopkins said. “It’s better days ahead.”

Hopkins thinks a “pretty simple” password led to the hack, which the rookie believes happened while he was in a team meeting Wednesday at Reliant Stadium. He was informed of the video by his girlfriend, who soon posted on Hopkins’ Twitter account his Instagram account had been hacked.

“Basically, she was like, ‘I know it’s not you. But, like, what happened?’ ” Hopkins said.

Pyro's take: This is one way to get noticed as a rookie. First it was Manti Te'o who was catfished, and now Hopkins has been hacked. There is no doubt that he is going to butt of many jokes, and it is too bad that the Texans are home for their next 3 games, because I would have liked to have seen some creative signs from opposing fans.

Hopkins is coming off a week where he had 11 targets, and his video is going to get 1,000,000 hits. DeAndre has a chance to let his game take attention away from this hacking episode with a nice match-up against the Raiders this week.

DeAndre Hopkins cleared to play in season opener

Rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins passed the final stage of the NFL’s concussion test and is expected to be active during the Texans’ regular season-opener Monday at San Diego.

Hopkins practiced Tuesday and several teammates said the Texans’ 2013 first-round pick appeared ready for the Chargers.

“He looks like he’s normal,” receiver Lestar Jean said.

Pyro's take: DeAndre Hopkins has a chance to have a real impact in fantasy football this season while playing across from Andre Johnson. The fact that Hopkins passed the new five stage concussion tests is a great sign and he should be a full go in week 1. It is important to remember that Gary Kubiak is a big fan of the rookie and he is going to be given every chance to succeed and make big plays in the Texans offense.

DeAndre Hopkins has a concussion

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suffered a concussion on Saturday night, and wasn't on the practice field Monday afternoon. He won't likely suit up Sunday at Reliant Stadium against the New Orleans Saints, but he hasn't been ruled out entirely.

"He’s not feeling very good today," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "So he’s not out here at all. We’ll start over again tomorrow and see where we’re at."

The Texans held a walkthrough outside at the Houston Methodist Training Center, and Hopkins wasn't there. The NFL has a protocol that all concussed players must go through after suffering the injury.

“There’s five stages," Kubiak said. "But there’s certain stages, you can pass like two stages in a day."

Hopkins was hurt in the first half of the win over Miami on Saturday night. There's still a possibility Hopkins can play against New Orleans.

"There’s always a chance you can play the following week depending on how quickly you’re involved in the protocol process.”

Pyro's take: Hopkins should be in no danger to miss the season opener, and still has a chance to be the rookie who makes the biggest impact this season.

Hopkins has been having a fantastic preseason and training camp, and this injury is unfortunate, as the more time on the field for him the better. Even with the missed time, I am still a fan of Hopkins in the Texans offense, and his draft value should remain unaffected by this injury.

DeAndre Hopkins continues to impress

DeAndre Hopkins had a nice first preseason game, catching 4 ball for 52 yards, including a 34 yard touchdown.

Pyro's take: Gary Kubiak has been raving about Hopkins all training camp, and the rookie made good on the hype hauling in a 34-yard touchdown pass from TJ Yates. Hopkins is in line to start opposite of Andre Johnson, and if he continues to make plays like this in the preseason has a chance to a viable low end fantasy starter in his rookie season.
