The only problem with DeAngelo Williams is that he will have to battle the (almost) equally talented Jonathan Stewart for carries again in 2010, and will do so happily. The Panthers front office and coaching staff have already determined that they will proceed with the offensive game plan that has been working for them, which means they will continue running a full-out RBBC… and DeAngelo 100% welcomes it. “We’re each about 220 or 230 carries a year,’’ Williams said. “I’d rather have that than 300-plus carries a year. That wears on your legs and you’re not going to last long doing that. With me and Jonathan back there and sharing it the way we do, that’s a real treat and neither one of us is going to get worn out.’’ (Source: ESPN.com) This would normally be a situation to stay away from in your draft, but if Williams can stay healthy this year, there’s no question he’s still an RB1 for your fantasy team in 2010.
~ The emergence of Jonathan Stewart could take even MORE carries away from DeAngelo
~ With Williams being more on the smallish side, the injuries could start to pile up and affect his running style
~ The switch to Matt Moore, or whoever lines up behind center, has the possibility of affecting the Panthers running game. Which way is yet to be determined
