2012 Pros and Cons

(+) Denarius Moore has a good mix of size 6’0” 200 pounds and 4.4 speed, he should be the receiver to break out from the Raiders

(+) Moore showed how deadly his speed could be last year averaging 18.7 yards per catch as a rookie

(+) A full offseason and training camp with Carson Palmer should help his development in his second season

(+) Moore posted three 100 yard games as a rookie and caught 3 TD’s in those games

(+) Moore caught 4 or more passes in 5 games last year…expect more targets for Moore

(-) Needs to improve his catches per target percentage if he truly wants be a possession receiver scouts see him as

(-) Must stay healthy for a full season after battling foot issues that cost him to miss 3 games last year

(-) With DHB and Jacoby Ford in the mix Moore can’t stumble out of the gate

Clean Slate

Denarius Moore has a clean-slate now that new head coach Tony Soprano is running the Raiders. Dennis Allen had continually criticized Moore for his lack of focus and attention to detail.

Soprano went on to say: “One thing that Bill Parcells drilled into my head, literally, is that you start it off with a clean slate and you let your own eyes do the talking for you and kind of believe what you see. So I’m going to go out there and that’s the way I’m going to approach it.”

Pyro's take: Somebody has to lead that race at the wide receiver position, and it very well could be Moore. Either case the Oakland Raiders offense is just not strong enough to make anyone viable as a every-week starter or even back-up at this point.
