He’ll probably never make it into the Hall of Fame, especially seeing guys like Cris Carter and Andre Reed being overlooked the past few years, but Derrick Mason’s reliability and consistency are impossible to turn a blind eye to, and last year did nothing to dissuade that fact. In 2009, Derrick notched his seventh straight 16-game season (he’s only missed 6 games in 13 seasons), put up another 1,000+ yards (his 8th in 9 years), and caught 7 TDs, all of which put him yet again among the top-25 fantasy receivers in the game (which he has now done in nine of the past ten years). His decade-long string of dependability has been nothing short of amazing, and the young wide receivers of today would do well for themselves to take heed of what he has accomplished.
