(+) Desean Jackson had over 95 targets for the 4th straight season
(+) D-Jax’s big play ability allows him to be a threat to score from anywhere on the field
(+) Jackson average touchdown distance was an amazing 33.25 yards last season and he has always shown the ability to score in exciting fashion
(+) Has elite speed and his punt return duties add to his value in leagues that take it into consideration
(-) Jackson is one of the more up and down receivers in the league, his points last season ranged from 2.1 to 17.1
(-) Scored his lowest touchdown output since his rookie season in the league
(-) As always he catches a low number of his targets usually hovering around the 50% mark

DJax? Nah. Too easy, too over-used. Action Jackson? Same thing. Long Gone DeSean? Ehh, not bad. Fraction Jackson? Getting better. Uno Cero? Funny, but one of those in the NFL is quite enough, thank you. Basically, after the year DeSean Jackson had in 2009, the kid obviously needs a nickname. Look at his TDs for instance. Most fans would consider a 60-yard touchdown something special to see. Now get this: The average distance of DeSean’s first 10 touchdowns in 2009 (7 receiving, 1 rush, 2 punt returns) was 61.3 yards per TD!!! If that kind of stat doesn’t deserve a nickname, I don’t know what does. The only problem with Jackson’s game is that he’s so fast, it makes it really tough to watch him play. I always feel like I need a new flat-screen TV or an eye-test or something after an Eagles game because frankly, every time he touches the ball, he just ends up looking like a little green blur cruising across the screen.

~ Led the league in punt return average (15.2 yards/attempt) and punt return TDs (2)
~ Set career bests in receptions (63), receiving yards (1,167), receiving TDs (9, 12 total), yards/reception (18.5), yards/game (77.8), rushing yards (137), and yards from scrimmage (1,304)
~ Made his first Pro-Bowl team
DeSean put up the fourth most WR fantasy points in the league last year… and did it in just 15 games. He’s not the type that will ever catch you a ton of passes, so he might not be an elite PPR guy, but his quickness and big-play ability are unrivaled across the league, so he consistently has a chance to give you something each week. His receptions and yards should both be around the same this season as they were in 2009, but can he continue to catch lightning in a bottle by putting up 70-yard TDs every other Sunday? Probably not, which likely sets him up as an elite WR2 in your fantasy league come 2010.
~ Can Kevin Kolb run the show any better than McNabb did during DeSean’s first two seasons?
~ Talented second-year wideout Jeremy Maclin will steal some of the spotlight in 2010
~ With the West Coast offense that Andy Reid runs, Jackson may not get as many downfield opportunities as he did in 2009

DeSean's ability to make big plays definitely gives newcomer QB Kevin Kolb plenty of...

If Rice likes DeSean Jackson, we like DeSean Jackson
Probably the dumbest play I've ever seen on Monday Night Football. Rookie!
The Eagles locked down Jackson to a four-year, $3.058 million contract in July of ’08 that included a $1.353 million signing bonus and a $391,000 roster bonus in 2009. This are how the final two years wash out:
2010 - $470,000 (+ $335,000 roster bonus)
2011 - $555,000
2012 - Free Agent
Jason Avant should be considered the handcuff to DeSean at this point, but keep an eye on rookie Riley Cooper
With DeSean being on the smallish side, he's more susceptible to injury than most. He also sustained a back injury at the beginning of training camp, but seems to be okay after resting it for a week. We're going to suggest being cautious, but will give him the green light anyway
