(+) Gets a ton of targets and had 142 last season
(+) Seems to make difficult catches look easy
(+) Besides his great size and strength, he can run like a freakin’ Gazelle
(+) Though he has since moved on, it looks like OC Charlie Weis didn’t have a problem turning Bowe into a bona fide Pro Bowler before he left
(+) Jamaal Charles going down in Week 1 definitely hurt his 2011 season. With Charles healthy, defenses can't focus too hard on Bowe and the passing game
(+) The Chiefs had been rumored to be looking for a wide receiver in the first round of the draft to help take the pressure off of Bowe in 2011...and they did when they nabbed Jonathan Baldwin
(–) He’s a boom or bust type of guy and has a tendency to disappear for at least a few weeks during the season
(–) His TDs went from 15 in 2010 down to five in 2011. He needs to get that fixed
(–) Jonathan Baldwin has the skill-set to be the WR1 by the end of the year if Bowe isn’t careful
(–) He's a bit of a head-case. Last year he was didn’t start in two separate games for conduct detrimental to the team
(–) Roger Goodell suspended Bowe for five games in 2009 for substance abuse (diuretic). Hopefully he can continue to stay clean and isn't a PED guy (doesn’t look like it)
(–) Might spend more time on Facebook/MySpace "importing" women than in the video room figuring out defenses
Dwayne Bowe followed up two strong seasons with one that never quite got off the ground in 2009. Hampered by a tough offseason and a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating their substance abuse policy, Bowe ended up starting just 9 games last year en route to the worst of his three seasons in the league thus far. There were some positives though, as Somewhere Over the Dwayne Bowe was targeted in the double-digits by his QB Matt Cassel during six of those nine games, which shows Cassel’s affinity for his big-play receiver. Still, Bowe dropped too many passes, ate too many double cheeseburgers, and let down fantasy owners galore (and his teammates) in his supposed “breakout season”.
~ Ranked 54th in the league with 82.9 WR fantasy points (basic scoring system)
~ Tied for 54th in the league with 4 receiving touchdowns
~ Ranked 70th in the league with 589 receiving yards
~ Ranked 44th in the league with 53.5 receiving yards per game
~ Tied for 74th in the league with 47 receptions
~ Ranked 61st in the league with 87 targets
~ Ranked 65th in the league with 8 receptions of 20+ yards
~ Tied for 62nd in the league with 31 catches for first downs
~ Ranked 133rd in the league with 166 yards after the catch (YAC)
Bowe still has all the skills to become an elite player (fantasy and otherwise), but the question remains, how bad does he want it? If last year was any indication, we’d have to lean towards Bowe being a bust in 2010. However, Charlie Weis will be the Chiefs offensive coordinator this year, which could be a HUGE bonus for those who plan on taking a chance on Dwayne. Weis brings a high-octane style to his offenses, one that tends toward lofty numbers for his wide receivers, so Bowe could be in for the year everyone was expecting in 2009. He’ll obviously be a risky pick in light of his meltdown last year, but as we love to say, more often than not, it’s the risks you take in the draft that put you over the top in the end.
~ The emergence of Jamaal Charles and the addition of Thomas Jones will open up the secondary
~ Charlie Weis is the kind of gravy all receivers want on their turkey
~ If Bowe wants to stick around, or at least receive some sort of contract extension, he’ll have to prove he’s worth it this year

Time for fantasy owners to find that pot 'o gold at the end of the Dwaynebow:

In August of ’07, Bowe signed a five-year, $9 million rookie contract with a substantial portion of it being guaranteed. Dwayne will remain plenty motivated to ink his first big free agent contract this upcoming year - and let's be real; he has some serious proving to do if he wants an extension at all. Here are the final two years:
2010 - $600,000
2011 - $690,000
2012 - Free Agent
Chris Chambers has a bit of fantasy value on his own, so Jerheme Urban should be the handcuff for Bowe, or maybe even a Dexter McCluster by the time the season starts
Bowe has no history of injury and looks ready for the upcoming season
