2012 Pros and Cons

(+) Eric Decker scored 8 touchdowns with an anemic Tim Tebow at the helm last season

(+) Eric Decker will now have a future Hall of Famer throwing him the ball this year

(+) Eric Decker has good size at 6’3” 218 and has a great set of hands for Peyton to rely on

(+) Decker had a better fantasy average with Kyle Orton at the helm, so a true passer Like Manning should increase his value

(+) Decker had 2 games with 2 TD’s last year

(+) Scored his 8 TD’s between weeks 2 and 12 showing great production during that span

(-)Decker lacks the elite speed and upside of expected top receiver Demaryius Thomas

(-)The Denver Offense is completely reliant upon the health of Peyton Manning and his surgically repaired neck

(-)Faded down the stretch when Thomas got healthy and immersed himself in the offense

(-) Had only 14 catches over his final 9 games

Decker To Pursue Country Music Career

Pyro's take: Nashville by far was the most exciting landing spot for the Decker's. Eric gets to play with the up and coming QB sensation, Marcus Mariota. And his wife, Jessie James gets to pursue her country music career.

Fantasy Goo: The Titans have turner their WR core from one of the worst in 2016 to potentially the best. Decker will likely play the slot and make his biggest contribution in the Red Zone, with a QB who is yet to throw a Red Zone pick in his career. Get your popcorn ready Nashville.

Jets Release Decker

Pyro's take: After trying to find a trade partner for Decker, the Jets have pulled the plug. Making Decker the most attractive free agent after the recent Maclin signing.

Fantasy Goo: The Jets passing attack could still be fantasy relevant as all signs point towards a season of tanking. Similar to the last few years in Jacksonville, expect the Jets to be passing heavily to Enunwa, Stewart and Anderson in negative game scripts.

Eric Decker Goes On Season Ending IR

Pyro's take: The New York Jets have placed WR Eric Decker (shoulder) on the injured reserve list.

Fantasy Goo: Decker appeared headed to IR since the news broke of his partially torn rotator cuff, and on Wednesday, it was made official. In Decker's absence, Quincy Enunwa will benefit as the permanent starter opposite Brandon Marshall for the remainder of the season. Enunwa should be added across all fantasy scoring formats.

Decker - Major Cause for Concern Beyond Week 4

Pyro's take: Decker owners are worried,m with reason. HE will miss Week 4, but that might not be all according to reports.

Fantasy Goo: IF you own Decker, you are collecting as many stories on this as possible, but everything I have read sounds very serious. Shop Decker NOW! Don't get caught like Watkins owners.

Marshall on Snap Count in Week 3, Decker Loves Arrowhead

Pyro's take: In his last two trips to Arrowhead, Eric Decker has 5 TDS. Marshall is set to be on a snap count Week #3.

Fantasy Goo: Snap counts can be thrown out the window sometimes, it just depends on how the player reacts and looks. If he gets going against a KC secondary that only looks like a shell of their 2015 dominance, I could see Marshall being a key force. However, if it is close, I'd go elsewhere, if your next man up does not compare, then do not be scared to roll Marshall, just couch expectations. As for Decker, get him in!

Eric Decker has the best chance to be fruitful on Sunday

Pyro's take: The best choice this week is wide receiver Eric Decker, who will draw favorable coverage because the Dolphins (and cornerback Brent Grimes, in particular) will be focused on Brandon Marshall. Decker is tied for the team lead with seven touchdowns, and he could add to that total. -- Rich Cimini

Eric Decker absorbed four of 11 targets for 81 yards

Pyro's take: Decker started slow as he did not have a catch in the first half. But he turned it on in the second half catching his four passes for 81-yards. He lost his streak of three straight games with a touchdown.

Eric Decker caught 6-of-11 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown

Pyro's take: Decker kept rolling with catches and targets, and has scored now in seven of eight games, and has caught six passes in four straight games. He now faces Houston next week.

Decker Out Week 3

Decker Out Week 3

Pyro's take: Decker will not play in week #3. I still like the bearded brotha under center and this should bump up Marshall.

Decked Decker day to day

Pyro's take: According to beat writer Rich Cimini via twitter "Eric Decker, sprained knee, day-to-day, per Todd Bowles. Hopeful he can play Sunday."

It may difficult for him to return on Sunday after being injured Monday night, but the MRI is a hopeful sign that he wont be out much more than that if he misses next week.

Decker Still No GO

Dennis Waszak has reported via twitter that Eric Decker, among others "Didn't practice: Reilly (knee). Limited: Salas, Harris, Decker, Colon, Adams, Aboushi."

Pyro's take: Eric Decker hamstring has been lingering all-season, Rest and play, repeat.

Missed Practice

Eric Decker sat out of practice again today. because of hamstring issues, that he suffered in last Sunday's game. He spent the time stretching and doing exercises in the training room. Since, the Jets do not play until Monday night, Rex Ryan can refrain from publishing an injury report at this time.

Decker leads the team with nine catches for 137 yards and a touchdown.

Pyro's take: This doesn't sound overly serious, but more will be known when Ryan releases his activity report. Decker will take on the Bears this Monday.

Decker sits out with hamstring

The Jets’ prized free-agent signing was on the sideline Friday.

Wide receiver Eric Decker sat out most of practice with a hamstring injury.

“It’s a little bit of a hamstring,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said. “It’s not like he pulled a hamstring. We took care of him.”

Ryan did not sound concerned. Decker still is expected to play in Saturday’s Green and White Scrimmage. Decker worked with the trainers early in practice, doing some agility drills.

He participated in some positional drills, but sat out all of the team drills.

Pyro's take: Decker was the big free agent prize at wide receiver this off-season, but his landing spot was not ideal for fantasy owners. The Jets only threw for 2,932 yards last season, while Denver threw for 5,444 yards. Decker had a career high 1,288 yards last season, but that number is going to dip in New York without Peyton Manning.

The hamstring injury is not a big deal at this point. If you do target Decker, realize that he is going to see a drop in his production, and is ideally suited to be a WR3.

Decker now top dog in New York

Decker has signed on to be bolster the wide receiver corps in New York. Decker, who turns 27 Saturday, is coming off back-to-back, 1,000-yard seasons. He recorded career highs last season with 87 receptions and 1,288 yards, contributing to the most prolific passing offense in league history.

The deal is for five years and worth $36.25 million with $15 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Pyro's take: Decker will be the unquestioned number one option in the Jets passing game next season. Although he moves up in the food chain he probably will not eat near as much as he did in Denver in one of the best offenses of all time. It is hard to see any way in which this deal increases Deckers value as he now looks like a wide receiver 3 than the top ten guy we have seen over the last two seasons.

Decker obviously went for the most money in his new deal as he clearly didn't care about finding an offense that would maximize his talents.

Decker unsure if he will return to Broncos

To fans of the popular Eric Decker or 15 other Broncos free agents, nervous times are ahead.

John Elway, the Broncos' executive vice president of football operations, said the team's prospective free agents most likely would be allowed to test the NFL market when the 2014 league season opens March 11.

Pre-emptive deals with star players such as wide receiver Decker, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and running back Knowshon Moreno are unlikely. This way, the player and the club will have a better understanding of the player's market value.

"Then we'll see if we're in the ballpark," Elway said.

"I do hope it works out," Decker said Monday morning before departing with his team for home. "I love the city of Denver. I love the organization. I love everything about it. I understand it's a business, and we'll see what happens. I have enjoyed my time here."

Pyro's take: Decker has been everything and more to the Broncos and Peyton Manning over the past two seasons with 172 catches for 2,352 yards and 24 touchdowns. There is not doubt that Decker is going to get a lot of attention on the free agent market, and with good reason.

The Golden Gopher product has proven that he is a major redzone target, and his size and hands are going to have teams knocking down his door. It will be interesting to see how he will respond to not having Peyton Manning or the myriad of weapons around him to draw defenders away. Where he lands will be the major factor in determining his value for 2014.
