Harry Douglas In Danger Of Not Making Titans 53 Man Roster

The Titans

Pyro's take: The Titans' official website doesn't consider Harry Douglas a lock for the 53-man roster.

Fantasy Goo: Justin Hunter and sophomore Tre McBride are his competition for the team's final receiver spot. Douglas has plenty working in his favor, including his veteran status, a history with coach Mike Mularkey and a team that's prone to bad decisions. Douglas turns 32 in September.

More opportunities for rookie Justin Hardy

JH

Pyro's take: Falcons wide receiver Leonard Hankerson is not only struggling with drops, he's also struggling to overcome a nagging hamstring strain. The Falcons could decide not to force him back into action or limit his reps, meaning more opportunities for rookie Justin Hardy alongside Julio Jones and Roddy White. Remember, Hardy was inactive for the first seven games of the season before finally getting his chance as Hankerson sat out two games. The coaches and players are confident in Hardy's ability to catch the ball. And quarterback Matt Ryan has said all along Hardy will make an impact this season. Why not now? -- Vaughn McClure

Not Practicing

Harry Douglas has still not been able to practice. He is trying to recover from a right foot injury that’s kept him out of the past three games. Head coach Mike Smith wanted Douglas to be at practice by now, its just that's not what is happening. “It’s a concern anytime you don’t have a guy out there who’s helped you win games,” Smith said. “He’s working hard with the athletic performance people. We hope to get him back sooner rather than later. There’s really no timetable.”

In three games this season Douglas has 12 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Pyro's take: Its never good when a player is out farther than expected, for example, Marvin Jones. The later the season goes, the more serious the situation. Look for Devin Hester to continue to be the number three wide receiver.
