Matthews Facing Beat Up Secondary

Pyro's take: Matthews is already slated to go up against Jerraud Powers who is Questionable. Powers has not been cleared from a concussion he suffered last week. Plus, Baltimore will be without their best corner, Jimmy Smith.

Fantasy Goo: Baltimore is a funnel D, that is even more inviting with so many secondary guys on crutches.

Matthews Unexpected

Pyro's take: With the Ankle injury, the Eagles do not expect Matthews to play.

Fantasy Goo: This should mean good things for Zach Ertz, but the biggest boost goes to DGB who is now flex-worthy.

Exotic Dancer Accuses Eagles Player Nelson Agholor of Rape

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor has been accused of raping a dancer at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club, law enforcement sources have told Philadelphia magazine.

Pyro's take: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor has been accused of raping a dancer at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club, law enforcement sources have told Philadelphia magazine. A 27-year-old dancer told police that she was raped inside the club, which is located on Front Street near Oregon Avenue in South Philadelphia, about 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Fantasy Goo: Nelson was supposed to be a great fit in the Chip Kelly offense last year. Now Agholor has two battles as he tries to improve on the field and deal with a lying bitch. Surprise, a stripper telling a lie or is Nelson actually guilty? We will have to wait and see. I am betting this is not the first time that she has received ‘The Ejaculate Reception’. Since everything about a stripper is based on lies, the odds might be in Nelson’s favor but, his reputation will take a hit and his ability to focus this season may take a hit as well. Jordan Matthews and Zach Ertz can expect to carry the team in 2016.

Jordan Matthews could be moved out of the slot.

JM

Pyro's take: Does Jordan Matthews stay in the slot? He's one of the biggest slot receivers league, something that Chip Kelly wanted, and while Matthews certainly offered a lot of production, he also took some tremendous shots in the middle of the field. Does Matthews move outside? Do the Eagles use more motion with him and try to work him into free space? Stay tuned. Matthews is a hard-working player and he could be a real focal point of a passing attack that could look quite a bit different.--Dave Spadaro

Matthews continues to impress Kelly

Chip Kelly is absolutely right about the overheated NFL hype machine, particularly when it comes to the draft. And yet, right after Kelly expanded yesterday on remarks he originally made to Sports Illustrated's Peter King over the weekend, Jordan Matthews showed a crowd of just under 15,000 people at Lincoln Financial Field why he got so much media attention all spring.

"I see a guy that has a big, huge motor, man. I see a guy that's going to bust his tail from the minute the ball's snapped to the end of the play. He's going to finish every play," Eagles corner Cary Williams said after the first of the team's three scheduled public practices. "I see a guy that goes up to get the ball away from his body - all those intangible things that you can't coach. You see those things out of that guy. Him and [third-round rookie Josh] Huff both have done a tremendous job for us. They're young guys, but they came in with a veteran mentality, making plays."

Pyro's take: We are big fans of Jordan Matthews here at Pyro, and he is proving the Eagles made a good choice selecting him in this year's draft. The Eagles hope that Jordan will be able to step in from day one and earn a starting receiver role. In this fast paced offense he will a rookie that is worth drafting this year in fantasy.
