2010 - $$395,000
2011 - $740,000
2012 - $1.085 million
2013 - $1.43 million

Kansas State's Josh Freeman came into the 2009 NFL draft as an appealing quarterback prospect for several teams around the league, and had his name called early on draft day by Tampa Bay with just the 17th overall pick of the draft. His enormous size, surprising ball velocity, impressive mobility, and his solid production at the college level were among the attributes that put him near the top of the 2009 quarterback class.
Freeman is a quarterback with great tools, but it's debatable whether or not his physical attributes warranted such a high draft pick. Freeman is not a winner. His team posted a record of 4-6 his Freshman year and 5-7 in both his Sophomore and Junior seasons. In none of the last six games of the season did he complete more 60% of his passes, and he led the Wildcats through a four-week stretch in which they lost all four games by a total of 99 points. Ouch.
Freeman's inconsistent mechanics will kill him in the NFL, as will his poor decision making. Put simply, he's just not ready to be a pro. His team's performance over his tenure and his touchdown-to-interception ratio of 44-34 are strong indicators that he doesn't have the mental capacity or football intangibles to lead a team to any kind of success, especially at the professional level. We'll see.
Freeman is huge and well-built, and going back to high school, he has no history of significant injury.
