(+) “Pocket Hercules” is one of the few every-down, workhorse backs in the league
(+) MJD was probably the only player on his team that played well last season and even had success when opposing defenses realized they didn’t have to honor the Jags passing game
(+) MJD proved again that he can shoulder the workload of over 300 touches in a season with good production and yards per touch
(+) The passing game should be much improved with Justin Blackmon and Laurent Robinson, thus opening more room for MJD with defenses having to respect the pass
(+) MJD is still just 27-years old
(+) Loves to put up big fantasy numbers due to his running his own fantasy league/show on satellite radio
(+) It seems like MJD is always trying to prove himself worthy of a new contract…and right now he happens to be seeking a long-term deal
(+) Had only ONE game last year where he rushed for LESS than 84 yards
(–) MJD’s rushing touchdown numbers decreased last season from their typical double-digit average
(–) Currently holding out and losing time with the offense (and could hold out for quite awhile)
(–) Starting to be over-worked as he’s averaged 318 carries per season over the last three years (most in the league)
(–) If you can believe it, Jones-Drew has more carries (1,484) in his career than both Michael Turner (1,417) and Adrian Peterson (1,406)
Well, the little bowling ball is exactly what we thought he was… An absolute freak-of-nature touchdown-machine! He’s one of the few backs in the league who has all the necessary skills to be an every-down back, and even though the Jaguars under-used him at times during the season, he still came through with top-of-the-line numbers. At 5’7”, 208 lbs., you sometimes feel like you’re watching Christian Okoye in Tecmo Bowl. The Jags may not have made the playoffs, but once they learn how to utilize their ultimate weapon in MJD, there’s no doubt they’ll be clawing at the post-season door in no time. Jones-Drew’s combination of power, speed, and pass-catching ability should keep him at the top of the running back class for years to come.

~ Set career bests in yards (1,391), attempts (312), rushing touchdowns (15, 16 total), yards/game (86.9), and total yards from scrimmage (1,765)
MJD won’t be slowing down in 2010, and in fact, we fully expect him to do even better than he did last year. 2009 was his first year as a full-time back, so now that he and the coaches both know what he can do and how much of a load he can take on, MJD should be able to build on the numbers he accumulated last year and challenge CJ2K and AP28 for the top Fantasy RB in the league. Rashad Jennings is a strong young backup, but he shouldn’t eat into MJD’s carries too much, so no worries on the workload. Expect big things out of the human bowling ball in 2010, as in 1,400+ rushing yards and 15+ TDs.
~ Showed he can handle a full load as an every-down back
~ If the Jaguars want to stay in Jacksonville, they better put up the wins, and that means riding their best player, MJD
~ The Jags are developing somewhat of a passing attack which will open up more space for MJD

MJD vs. Bob Sanders
MJD signed a five-year contract worth $30.95 million in April of 2009. The deal contained $17.5 million guaranteed, a $9 million signing bonus (along with his base salaries in ‘09 and ‘10), and leaves the possibility of another $1.8 million through incentives. The breakdown is as follows:
