Geronimo Allison

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay WRs Hobbling into Conference Championships

So far this week at practice, Cobb is the only starting WR to go full, hell, to go at all. Adams and Allison both missed practice on Wed, Thurs, and Fri.

Fantasy Goo: This makes Cobb one of the more attractive DFS plays this week. Rodgers relies on practice to build chemistry and work on the game plan. Cobb could be in store for a game.

Cobb Thrives in Lambeau

Randall Cobb is always in the conversation for start/sits. This week the Pack go to Lambeau where Cobb found the end zone 4 times in 6 games.

Fantasy Goo: Since losing Lacy in Week 6, Aaron Rodgers has been averaging 43 passes per game. Expect Rodger to pepper Cobb with targets in this one as the Seahawks try to fill Earl Thomas's shoes.

Randall Cobb

Green Bay Packers

Randall Cobb says his Divisional Round injury was a punctured lung.

Randall Cobb mentions on Jim Rome that he had "punctured" his lung; previously, the injury had been reported as a "bruised" lung.

"I made the catch. I got up and I felt fine, and I was walking back to the huddle, and I noticed that it started to get harder for me to breathe," Cobb told Rome. "And then it felt like I was going to throw up; it felt like I was choking on something.

"So I went to throw up, and I started spitting up blood, and it was kind of a crazy moment. And then I went back and got a chest X-ray. I didn't break a rib, I didn't fracture a rib, which is really abnormal, to puncture a lung without that. But I was mic'd up for the game, and the battery for the mic was on my shoulder pads. I landed flush on my back during the catch, and I punctured my lung.

Cobb out 6-8 weeks after nasty hit

This was a real vicious hit on Cobb and he is damn lucky to still have a leg today. He is going to miss 6-8 weeks, which means that he should be back in the first or second week of the fantasy playoffs, but how effective he will be in those first games could cost you a playoff game. If you have depth and can wait to see how he performs upon return then keep him. James Jones was also injured and could miss a few weeks, so Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley will see an increase in fantasy value.

Randall Cobb Looking to Expand His Role in 2013

Cobb is a great talent, and there is proof out there in Percy Harvin, Victor Cruz and Wes Welker that these receiver can be counted on as more of a threat when used outside as well.

There is the fact that Tavon Austin was and is the best receiving talent that was available in 2013, and the Rams view him as more than just a slot receiver as well. Cobb has one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and if he dedicates himself to being a better receiver, there is no doubt that he can break the glass ceiling for slot guys with over 11 or more touchdown catches.

Cobb may be the first of the slot receivers to go to the next level, but with T.Y. Hilton and Tavon Austin around, he will have company soon.

There is the fact that Tavon Austin was and is the best receiving talent that was available in 2013, and the Rams view him as more than just a slot receiver as well. So far this week at practice, Cobb is the only starting WR to go full, hell, to go at all. Adams and Allison both missed practice on Wed, Thurs, and Fri.

I have not spoken to Randall. My understanding is he’s coming back to Green Bay. … Anytime you have a player transported to the hospital, I’d put it in category of high concern. … The fact he’s able to be transported today is a very good sign.

Randall Cobb came off the field in last week's win over San Francisco because he had injured his shoulder, but went back almost immendiately. Its probably sore, but the Packers are taking the cautious approach. Cobb should be ready to roll on Sunday.

Sigh of Relief

Cobb underwent an MRI which only revealed an MRI joint sprain. This is good news for Packer nation, still reeling from the Nelson loss. Originally, Cobb feared a broken collar bone. His week 1 chances are not certain, but this is only a short term problem.
