(+) Randy has shown this offseason that he still has the one thing that made him one of the best receivers for over a decade…SPEED
(+) Moss is dedicated to ending his career on a high note
(+) Everyone from Coach Jim Harbaugh down to the water-boy have already praised Randy’s commitment to the 49ers for his actions and play during offseason training activities
(+) Randy has always had big-play ability and is a great Red Zone threat…as evidenced by his NINE double-digit touchdown seasons
(+) With all the offensive talent surrounding him, Moss is expected to play more of a complimentary role this season, a role that might actually suit his current skill-level better
(–) The last season he played (2010), his stat-line was a measly 28 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns
(–) Because he didn’t play in the NFL last year, it’s hard to know which Randy we are going to see
(–) Randy has been considered a prima donna and sometimes a cancer at different points of his career. If he tries to do it with these 49ers, expect him to be released
(–) The 49ers are still going to be more of a run-first team
(–) Alex Smith is still at the helm for the ‘Niners and has yet to prove himself as more than a low-end, backup fantasy QB

When you listen to the common football fan talk about how Randy Moss fared in 2009, most say they felt he had a down-year. In some respects, that may be true, but the numbers actually say otherwise. In fact, by the end of the season, Moss accumulated numbers that were either on-par with or above his career averages in every statistical category across the board. Still, there are some wet blankets out there who will see this and say, “Yeah, but his numbers were inflated by those two or three huge games that he had”. Again, that may be correct, but his five 100-yard games were the sixth most in his 12-year career, his 13 TDs tied for fifth most, and his 83 catches were fourth. Sometimes for certain players, expectations are raised just a tad higher than reality dictates.

Randy will be Randy will be Randy will be Randy. He’s almost as steady of a Top-5 fantasy wide receiver as Peyton Manning is at quarterback, and don’t expect that to change in 2010. The Patriots are in a little bit of trouble in terms of overall talent at this point, and Welker possibly not being there for the beginning of the season doesn’t help, but Brady and Belichick will put the pieces together enough to get Randy his. Even at 33-years old, he still has a higher skill-level and more talent than 99% of the league. Have no worries in drafting The Mossiah as your #1 WR in 2010.
~ The Patriots and Tom Brady are sure to be pretty pissed after getting embarrassed in the playoffs last year
~ Moss will be completely recovered from the separated shoulder he played with most of last year
~ Brady will be a full year removed from his ACL tear
~ MOSS IS IN A CONTRACT YEAR!!!

Most Receiving TDs in a Single Season:

"This year, it's going to be a little bit scarier because we do have two years up under our belts," said Moss, who caught an NFL record 23 touchdown passes in 2007. "This offense is complicated. To be point blank, they don't want dummies in this offense. You have to be somewhat intelligent to be able to go ahead and run this offense because one play you could be here; the next play you could be there. You have to be versatile to be able to change positions and be good." - Excerpt from ESPN.com's Jeff Graham story from May 25th, 2009

Moss signed a three-year, $27 million contract in March ‘08. The deal contained $14.1 million guaranteed, including a $12 million signing bonus. The final year is below:
2010 - 6.4 million
2011 - Free Agent
Brandon Tate might be the only handcuff-type of player on the team for Moss, but considering the situation with Welker, you might want to consider either Julian Edelman or even Torry Holt
"This community had three things going for it," he says. "One, it's gated. Two, I can fish. And three, old people don't bother me and I don't bother them. If there are too many kids or families around, they're going to be on me. The only thing the old people worry about is my vehicle's stereo system, but that's why I don't play it too loud. Old people, they sleep all day, as long as I don't wake 'em up."

Randy Moss has a bit of the Deliverance factor in his blood. What do you expect, his quarterback in High School was Jason "White Chocolate" Williams, a certain kin of first cousins. Randy loves to fish so much that his new Pony Moss shoe ad campaign was built around tackle and fishing bait, which is Boss Hog to say the least. Randy also owns a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series motorsports company. We can hear banjos playing off in the distance...
