Pryor Held Hostage In D.C.

Pyro's take: Just kidding, he signed a 1 year 8 million dollar deal to play with the Skins.

Fantasy Goo: The Redskins look to bolster their WR core with 214 targets available after the departure of Jackson and Garcon. Interesting note both top FA WR's took 1 year deals.

Roll With Pryor Tonight

Pyro's take: Remember, Terrelle Pryor is 6'6" and 230 pounds HE IS A BEAST. Also, over the 4 games Kessler started he is averaging 10.75 targets, 6.75 catches for 78 yards and a score. He could also be dangerous in the pass game and run game. Clearly a WR1 and a every week starter. Don't overthink this, the Raven are good, but the spread is -7.5 for the Ravens. Expect a lot of passing from the Browns.

Say What?

Griffin found wide receiver Terrelle Pryor streaking down the right sideline on Cleveland’s second drive of the game for a 50-yard scoring strike.

Pyro's take: Griffin found wide receiver Terrelle Pryor streaking down the right sideline on Cleveland’s second drive of the game for a 50-yard scoring strike. Griffin connected with tight end Gary Barnridge for a 22-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.

Fantasy Goo: Robert was 6 of 8 for 96 yards passing with 2 touchdowns along with 3 rushes for 36 yards. The touchdowns were from 50 and 29 yards out so, they were not simply luck. The bomb to Pryor was a beauty as Pryor beat the defender by about 5 yards. RGIII will have Gordon, Coleman, Pryor and Barnidge to throw to so, let’s keep an open mind with Griffin. The Browns should see a ton of and early garbage time which is great for the passing attack for fantasy owners. If Griffin strings together a couple more preseason steps-forward he will have to be reckoned with. Possibly he suffered from a broken heart in Washington and maybe Cleveland will give RGIII what he needs.

Terrelle Pryor getting some praise from RG III and Josh McCown

Pyro's take: Both RG III and Josh McCown have enjoyed the progress that Terrelle Pryor has made since making the switch from quarterback to wide receiver.

McCown stated: “It seems like he’s getting more and more comfortable playing the position,” McCown said. “He’s big and he’s fast, but last year you kind of saw him thinking a little bit while he was doing it, trying to do things right, so it takes away from your skill set.

Pryor could make a healthy addition to your team as he will fly under the radar for many owners. A nice late round stash or priority on waiver wires

Pryor changed positions last year, appeared in three games with the Browns and caught one pass for 42 yards.

Hue Jackson is still undecided on whether Terrelle Pryor will play receiver or quarterback.

Pyro's take: Head coach Hue Jackson may not know where Terrelle Pryor will play has everything to do with the multiple functionality of Pryor and the weaksauce at quarterback. We will see how this unfolds come preseason.

Mike Pettine said Terrelle Pryor's role could expand in the absence of Brian Hartline.

Pyro's take: Nate Ulrich via Twitter "#Browns HC Mike Pettine said WR Terrelle Pryor did his jobs, I could see role expanding with Brian Hartline injured."

He does not hold in fantasy value for this season, but he could be a nice late round target for next season depending on his role, and if he makes the team.

Browns signed WR Terrelle Pryor.

Pyro's take: Mary Kay Cabot via Twitter "breaking: Terrelle Pryor is signing with #Browns today"

With Josh McCown out for the season with a broken collarbone, it will be interesting to see what plans the Browns have in store for Pryor. It appeared that he had given up being a quarterback in exchange for wide receiver.

Pryor burns for Jets

Pyro's take: According to Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot via twitter "Former #Browns receiver Terrelle Pryor turned in a 4.2 and a 4.3 in the 40 in #Jets workout today, source tells cleveland.com"

Pryor seems to be over any injury that may have plagued him, and if Jets need insurance for Eric Decker, it could very well be Pryor. Fitz has a strong arm and this could make a good match.

Pryor is now a Seahawk

The Raiders have traded quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the Seahawks in exchange for a 2014 seventh-round pick, the team announced. ProFootballTalk.com adds that the 49ers were also in the running for Pryor's services. Oakland reportedly would have released Pryor, a supplemental third-round pick in 2011, if it didn't find a trade partner.

Pyro's take: This is a very shrewd move b Seattle. The 49ers were also in the running to make a trade for Pryor, and by making this trade the Seahawks insure that the 49ers are stuck with Blaine Gabbert if Kaepernick goes down.

We saw how explosive Terrelle can be, and going to Seattle will put him with a coach who will get the most out of him, if called upon. Pryor still has a lot of fantasy upside, so if you draft Russell Wilson, you better think about grabbing some TP before flushing your last draft pick away.

Pryor wants out of Oakland

After acquiring Matt Schaub from the Houston Texans Terrelle Pryor has asked for his trade or release from Oakland. Schaub was immediately named the starter upon his arrival in Oakland and Pryor is apparently not happy about it.

Pyro's take: Pryor was much better for fantasy owners than he was for the Raiders as his running ability is at an elite level for the quarterback position, however his consistency in the passing game trails far behind. Pryor could be an intriguing option for a few teams who already have an established starter in the athletic mold.

Asking out of Oakland is an easy decision with the competition handed to Schaub before it even got started. If he hits free agency a number of teams might come calling asking him to switch to wide receiver which would probably be the best move for his long term career at this point. At this point in time, I believe Pryor might have started his last NFL game at the quarterback position unless some team believes he could be a legitimate backup in this league, which I have a hard time believing.

Pryor dealing with a sprained knee

Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor is day-to-day with a knee sprain.

Pryor said following the game his knee appeared stable and thought he would be fine.

``He seemed to be doing pretty good this morning,'' Allen said at his weekly press conference. ``We'll see how he's doing tomorrow.''

Pyro's take: There is good optimism that Pryor will not miss any time with this knee sprain. We will learn more as the week progresses, but he has been a viable fantasy starter with his ability to run for big yards.

Pryor is still going to have an up and down rest of the season, but I do like his potential for Dynasty/Keeper leagues. Although, if he does play this week, he could put up a nice fantasy game against the Giants.

Terrelle Pryor could play in week 5

Terrelle Pryor has to be completely non-symptomatic from his concussion to play this weekend against San Diego.

Pryor was actually medically cleared to play against Washington, but Allen said the quarterback was still exhibiting symptoms, such as a sensitivity to light.

Pryor had requested a tinted shield for his helmet's facemask -- he was denied -- and the fact that Pryor wanted a visor set off warning bells for Allen, he said.

"When you have that symptom," Allen said, "we can't put him at risk."

A player, then, can pass the NFL's concussion protocol and still exhibit symptoms?

"Yeah, because part of the tests are objective, and part of them are subjective," Allen said. "We wanted to make sure we exercised extreme caution in his situation and we probably went a little bit above and beyond what the typical protocol would be and it was just deemed that it wasn't worth the risk."

And while Pryor, who was inactive Sunday and watched the game from the sidelines wearing dark sunglasses, would seemingly be ready to face the Chargers, Allen would not commit to him ... yet.

"The biggest thing is that he's got to be symptom-free," Allen said. "Whenever that point is. We're going to continue to monitor it until he's symptom-free."

Pyro's take: The Raiders are not going to contend in the AFC West this season, so it reasons that they are going to be extra careful with Pryor and not risk further injury by rushing him back. The good news for Pryor is that Matt Flynn was impressive in his chance to replace Terrelle and the job is Pryor's when he is ready to return.

Terrelle Pryor suffers a concussion

Pryor appeared to run right into two Denver defenders. Though he stayed in the game to finish that drive, he left the field afterward. Raiders fans thought the hit was unfair, but Pryor was the ball carrier.

Allen wouldn't go so far as to blame Pryor's injury on the offense.

"He took a shot on that particular play," Allen said. "I think that play could happen to just about anybody."

"He'll go through the protocol," head coach Dennis Allen said.

Pyro's take: This is a tough break for Pryor, but is always the risk being a running quarterback in the read option. This is a reminder to owners of these types of quarterbacks that all it takes is one shot.

It is never easy to tell how long a player will be out with the new concussion protocols, so it will be interesting to see if he can practice this week, but my gut tells me he is going to miss at least one week. Matt Flynn would start in his absence, but that is not good news for anyone.

Terrelle Pryor will start week 1

Terrelle Pryor has been named the Raiders starting quarterback for the season-opener on Sunday, according to two league sources. Coach Dennis Allen told both Pryor and Matt Flynn his decision Monday morning.

Flynn was the starter thoughout training camp but struggled in the third preseason game, throwing two interceptions and fumbling once. Pryor came in and led four scoring drives and then started the preseason finale while Flynn rested a sore arm.

Pyro's take: That sure did not take long. Pryor is definitely the player that has more potential than Matt Flynn, who has seen his last chance to be a starter in this league unless there another GM who wants to lose his own job. Pryor is not going to light it up with his passing performances, but he should do some damage on the ground, and have a chance to score some sneaky fantasy points.

Terrelle Pryor auditioning for startng job tonight

The Raiders will start Terrelle Pryor at quarterback in their preseason finale on Thursday, a game that could wind up being the final step in Pryor winning the starting job for Week One over Matt Flynn.

Pryor’s ability to make plays with his feet has given him a leg up over Flynn, who has not played as well as Pryor in the preseason and is now dealing with the same elbow tendonitis that struck him last summer when Russell Wilson took the Seahawks’ starting job. Should Pryor wind up with the job, offensive coordinator Greg Olson admitted that the team will have to alter the offense as Pryor would be doing more than playing in specific packages of plays and because he still needs to develop as a passer.

“When you see Terrelle in a game, he just looks faster than the other players on the field,” Olson said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. “That’s what jumped out at me, and probably jumped out at most people when they watch him play. He can run. He is a tremendous athlete, and he’s got the ability to make plays. Right now we’re looking for playmakers.”

Pyro's take: Terrelle Pryor was a Rip Van Winkle sleeper and then became a deep sleeper and is continuing to move up, but not much further than that. Pryor is a much better playmaker than Matt Flynn and with his ability to run could wind up scoring some quality points. I could definitely see Pryor having more than a few game with more rushing yards than passing yards.

If the Raiders do go with Pryor that could help to open things up for Darren McFadden in the running game. McFadden is going to need all the help he can get with a weak offensive line ahead of him, but it may end up being Pryor running for his life and scoring more fantasy points.
