Eifert to I.R.

Pyro's take: Eifert's 2016 season is done.

Fantasy Goo: Don't expect to see him in the Pro Bowl...

Eiffert to Start

Pyro's take: Eiffert will start and reports suggest he will play 25% of the team's offensive snaps.

fantasy Goo: Considering this offense sputters in the red zone, they desperately need a RZ threat such as T.E. Considering they are facing a Cleveland D that has surrendered the most raw points to opposing TEs, I am rolling with Eiffert. Even if he plays a quarter of snaps, chances are those are the ones that will count when they are in close. I am betting he scores a tD today.

Eifert still keeping owners waiting

@BobHoltzmanESPN Bengals TE Tyler Eifert has hinted he may play Thursday vs Miami, but I'm told he is not expected to return this week.

Pyro's take: @BobHoltzmanESPN Bengals TE Tyler Eifert has hinted he may play Thursday vs Miami, but I'm told he is not expected to return this week.

Fantasy Goo: Tyler will be a great piece to your lineup sooner or later. You might consider grabbing him from your waiver wire now and holding tight if he is available. Andy Dalton could sure use him back as Dalton only has 2 touchdowns through the three games so far. The first week he returns he will surely be limited in regards to snaps.

Keep Waiting on Eifert

TE

Pyro's take: Tyler Eifert is expected to wait at least one more week before returning to action. The team hasn't explicitly stated that Eifert will remain on the sideline for this Thursday's contest versus the Dolphins, but reports from various beat writers aren't hopeful. ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported earlier today that he's been informed Eifert will in fact miss Thursday's game.

Fantasy goo: Eifert was an amazingly efficient touchdown scorer in 2015... so much so that hes a prime candidate for some touchdown regression. Regardless, he's easily the second-best receiving option in Cincinnati and the team looks like they could use his unique skillset sooner rather than later.

The Waiting Game

#Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Tyler Eifert won't practice with the team this week.

Pyro's take: #Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Tyler Eifert won't practice with the team this week.

Fantasy Goo: IF Tyler Eifert is on your leagues waiver wire you will want to grab him before someone else does. The question is when. It is better to be early than to be late. Last year’s 13 touchdowns are worth chasing even if he will not reach quite that level this season. If you are lucky to have deep rosters I recommend keeping two tight ends and Tyler being one of them. Dalton will need assistance as A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd will still leave receptions for Eifert. The worry for Tyler would be is Gio Bernard gets hot and grabs 6 per game. Regardless, Eifert produced just this past season and is still a stud. Pick him up and listen to the news coming out of Cincy.

Another Crapshoot for RapSheet?

#Bengals TE Tyler Eifert, who just started jogging, is targeting Weeks 4-6 for his return from ankle surgery, per source.

Pyro's take: #Bengals TE Tyler Eifert, who just started jogging, is targeting Weeks 4-6 for his return from ankle surgery, per source. His hope is Week 4

Fantasy Goo: Among the big-time NFL insiders Ian Rapoport has the weakest track record for estimating time to be missed due to injury. He nails the other stuff but, I cannot take his word as gold. RapSheet envisions Tyler to be back for week 4 and I will have to accept his word. For draft day I am going to let someone else draft Eifert who may miss 25% of the season. TE is very deep. You can take a tight end very late and end up with Ertz, Gates or maybe even Barnidge. 2016 appears to be the year of the WR so stock up those bad boys first.

Eifert to miss early season games

Do the Bengals have any interest in Anquan Boldin?

Pyro's take: Do the Bengals have any interest in Anquan Boldin? I don’t like to proclaim yes or no on anybody that’s out there, but we have not had any discussions with him. We feel pretty good about some young guys that we have in that position group. It’s a position group that’s in flux, and it’s a position group that’s going to have to step up – particularly with Eifert out early in the year.

Fantasy Goo: Fantasy drafters will have a difficult decision placing a value on a tight end that pulled in 13 touchdowns in 2015 who is now recovering from ankle surgery. A tight end catching 13 touchdowns is similar to there being two Gronkowski’s in the NFL. We need to know how many games Tyler will miss. If he misses one or two then he can still be drafted close to his original draft projection. If Tyler is to miss more than two games he starts to become a player to possibly pass on. The tight end position is healthy with plenty of start worthy options you can take late such as Walker, Barnidge, Fleener, Gates and more. Make sure to follow the latest news on Eifert on your fantasy draft day to see where the Bengals are leaning so, you can possibly steal Tyler or save your season by passing on him.

Tyler Eifert To Miss A Few Months Due To Unjury

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert

Pyro's take: Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (ankle) is expected to miss three months due to a "minimal procedure" he is set to undergo on his left ankle that was injured in the Pro Bowl.

Tyler Eifert will finally have a procedure performed on the ankle that was injured during the Pro Bowl. The 25-year-old tight end is one of the NFL's biggest up and coming stars and could have his best season as a pro in 2016. Eifert is expected to be available for the start of the regular season.

Tyler Eifert (concussion) is working off the side of Thursday's practice.

TE

Pyro's take: Geoff Hobson via Twitter "Eifert not practicing but back on field"

Eifert is improving but he is still in the concussion protocol, and I would say it is very doubtful he will play this week.

Tyler Eifert is still in the league's concussion protocol.

TE

Pyro's take: Paul Dehner via Twitter "Tyler Eifert still under concussion protocol." Eifert more than likely will miss this weeks game.

Both Dalton & Eiffert Ruled Out for Week 15

Eifert Owners Should Make other Plans in Week 13

f

Pyro's take: All the talking heads and all my Twitter sources say Eifert will not play. I even saw a handful say he could catch rest until the playoffs. In the fantasy world,
i realize manys owners want to just focus on the here and now, but not only would I pickup a good replacement today, but I would have an eye on the fantasy playoffs as well. Tweet me for suggestions, AJS is a good pickup and largely availalbe. Perhaps Will Tye for the Giants, MacDonald seems to have formed a bit of a relationship with Gabbert as well. Of course, know your league. Feel free to tweet me your options @PyromaniacMo

Offcially Doubtful for Week 13

no

Pyro's take: Not only is TE doubtful, he was unable to participate in practice on Friday. This is not a good sign, I would make plans now to have a backup at the TE spot.

Tyler Eifert (neck) is not practicing Wednesday.

TE

Pyro's take: Paul Dehner via Twitter "Tyler Eifert won’t be practicing today either. In sweatshirt after his stinger this weekend."

Him playing on Sunday is now questionable. Be prepared to go without him.

Tyler Eifert caught 3-of-7 targets for 26 yards

TR

Pyro's take: Tyler Eifert and the rest of the Bengals took the night off, or so it seemed. Eifert dropped three passes after only having three on the season. He will look to turn it around next week against Arizona. He remains a start in every format.

Tyler Eifert has a tasty match up against the Steelers defense

TE

Pyro's take: Vernon Davis, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Gates all set individual season-high marks in fantasy production, according to ESPN’s standard scoring system. Gronkowski and Gates actually gave their fantasy owners 20-plus points in their respective games against Pittsburgh.-Per ESPN

This matchup could be perfect for Eifert to have similar production. Besides, why wouldn’t you start him this week? Eifert already ranks third in tight end production with 68 points. -- Coley Harvey
